The Community Cartographers are collecting Grifball maps to be added to Halo 5's matchmaking playlist. The playlist update will be happening very soon, so maps must be submitted by March 4th! You can submit your maps to both ForgeHub and GrifballHub.

There are three steps to submitting your Grifball map for matchmaking consideration:

    GRIFBALL COURT BASICS:

Forge guru NOKYARD has prepared Forge templates and detailed instructions that include everything you need for a Grifball court, including spawn points, goals, walls and bomb spawns.

These objects are placed precisely where they need to be for standard Grifball courts. Feel free to use as much or as little of the template as you’d like.

The template is designed to give everyone a starting point for making great courts. New Forge users can do the equivalent of painting the walls, while advanced cartographers can build their own courts around the base template. Forge masters can also build their own courts from scratch, if they’d like.

All courts are welcome: Basic courts with a new coat of paint, more complex courts that have great themes, or even courts that bend the rules in interesting ways.

SUBMIT YOUR COURT TO FORGEHUB OR GRIFBALLHUB

When your court is finished and you are submitting it to ForgeHub, please select the 'GRIFBALL' map category for your map submission. Additionally, you can also submit your Grifball maps to GrifballHub and use this thread on their forums and post the following information:

    • Creator(s):
    • Map Name:
    • Gametype (“Halo 5 Grifball” or “Legendary Grifball”, choose one):
    • Map description (at most 1-2 sentences):
    • Screenshot(s) (XboxDVR link):
    • (Optional) Video (XboxDVR or YouTube link; no longer than 2 minutes):
Once your map is submitted, GrifballHub staff will review your map for errors and create a thread for it. The thread will allow you to post updates to your map and allow others to share their thoughts on it.

    BE AVAILABLE FOR FEEDBACK

After your court is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Community Cartographers which includes Grifball extraordinaire, NOKYARD. They will be meticulous in looking for any map mistakes that will impact gameplay: Uneven floors, incorrect spawn points, misaligned kill barriers and invisible walls, etc.

If any revisions are required, NOKYARD and others will contact the map’s creator with feedback. The final maps must be finished and ready for 343 Industries by Sunday, March 6, so the turnaround will need to be quick! Maps that are less-than-perfect won’t be considered for matchmaking.

As always, 343 Industries has the final say in everything that goes into matchmaking and when the playlist is updated. GrifballHub, ForgeHub, and the Community Cartographers will make recommendations, but 343 Industries will make the final call.

Finally, even if you are making a map that is not finished by March 4, please still complete it and submit it! Maps submitted will be used for upcoming GrifballHub events and will be considered for future matchmaking updates.
