    BEGIN TRANSMISSION

With the release of the “Memories of Reach” content update for Halo 5, we finally received one of the most essential gametypes for casual play and minigames - Infection. The community rejoiced and began creating maps for the playstyle and minigames that Infection had to offer.

With this release, ForgeHub and BIOC (Bloodthirst: Infection Only Customs) are extremely excited to unveil the next Forge contest for Halo 5 - Hub of the Dead. That’s right, a contest built specifically for vanilla infection to reward those players who have dedicated themselves to building a map that tailors directly to Infection, specifically with a $200 reward for each creator of the top 5 maps. Read on to find out more!

    PRIZING

    • $1000 Total prize pool
    • Top 5 Maps get $200 each
    • Inclusion to ForgeHub's Featured Maps library
    • Video feature on ForgeHub's YouTube channel

    FAQ

    Q. What maps can I forge on?

    A. Your map can be forged on one of the blank canvases - Tidal, Alpine, Glacier, Parallax, or Breakout Arena. It can also be forged on any of the Halo 5 disc maps, however they can ONLY be used as a blank canvas. You CANNOT use existing geometry on disc maps.

    Q. Are there age requirements?

    A. No. Anyone who submits a map will be eligible to claim a prize.

    Q. Can I co-forge with my friend(s)?

    A. Yes! We love seeing community collaboration, so co-forging is allowed. However, be aware that your map must have a primary author who will receive any contest winnings.

    Q. Is there a limit on creation date?

    A. There is no limit on creation date, however newer textures and pieces will most likely give you an edge in the aesthetics department.

    Q. How many maps may I submit?

    A. You may submit as many maps as you'd like, however you only will earn the $200 prize once.

    Q. Are remakes from (insert game here) allowed?

    A. Yes, however it is extremely unlikely that a remake will win any prizes because it will automatically receive a low score in the Originality/Creativity judging category.

Anyone found to be plagiarizing maps from other forgers will be disqualified, and shall forever be shunned by the forge community (so don't do it).

    SUBMISSIONS

Entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM on August 15th, 2016. All submissions should be tailored to the default infection gamemode, both in size and in power weapon placement. All submissions will be tested using default infection settings, so be sure to mold your maps to your liking with that in mind. Judging will commence immediately after the submission deadline and winners will be announced as soon as judging is completed.

To submit your map, simply create an account at www.ForgeHub.com, visit the "Maps" page and click on the "Submit Your Map" icon. Eligible submissions must contain at least 5 images per map. A YouTube gameplay video, or walkthroughs are not required but heavily encouraged.

After posting your map, post a link to it in the Hub of the Dead Submissions Thread, found here.

    JUDGEMENT DAY

Eligible map submissions will be judged based on:

    Game-type Support
    • Does the map function for the game-type as necessary? Are all required objects and systems in place to successfully play a game?
    Fun-Factor
    • Is the map fun to play on? Is the space fun to navigate through? Do the weapons, spawns, and layout promote a positive game experience?

    • Does the map and player experience offer replayability?
    Performance
    • Does the map suffer from any negative visual or performance issues?
    Originality / Creativity
    • Is the map interesting and unique in both design and appearance?

    JUDGE PANEL

    - The 0micron

    - PA1NTS

    - REMkings

    - WARHOLIC

    OTHER INFORMATION

    • Remember that community tools such as the Alliance Testing Network are there to assist you with constructive feedback to make your map the best it can be! Find out more in their respective threads.

Do map alterations of any type after the submission date get the map removed from the running?

This doesn't seem to be stated anywhere and it'd be a shame to lose maps from the contest due to people not knowing.

Judging takes place after the submission date, so no, alterations are not allowed

Hello! I have a question for Hub Of The Dead Contest.

I would like to submit to the contest, but I dont really want to share the map on forgehub map page yet! Cause I want to prepare a video and such. Is it possible to submit for the contest without the map thread?

So...I'm trying to get my map in by midnight. Can someone explain to me in detail how to get my map on here, get the screenshots on here, and submit?

How are the judges going to go about judging the various entries? Will you form a private lobby and play through each submission one by one, or look through them in Forge, or what?

The judging is done in test lobbies hosted by the judges themselves. The test lobbies are usually made up of a combination of judges, Community Cartographers, Bioc members, Halo Tubers, ect. Each map is play tested. Every entry has an equal opportunity. This is pretty much the same with just about every Forge Contest. But I'm just SimmonsZore, I would trust my word

@WARHOLIC or @Doju So adding a screenshot to your map in waypoint changes your last modified date on your map files. Hopefully that wouldn't be a cause for disqualification.

We saved all of the maps to our local files this time around to eliminate any updates made past the submission date. We learned the hard way and have been operating extremely diligently as a result of it. This contest produced some really incredible maps and we're looking forward to announcing the winners shortly.
