If this were to happen, and noobs were aware of it, they could simply rate every new map a 1 star, and make it go into a CRAP FOLDER, where nobody would ever look at it, potentially denying people a great map. Also, this would be a way for people to have a cause for rating their own map a 5, which is not okay.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. I don't mind if people are ignorant and just don't know how many maps like that have been posted, or even if the people themselves make maps like that. Just don't join a website specifically meant for forging if you have no idea what you are doing or aren't really into it. Please, try to tell me that you have not seen at least 5 other maps with the same concept. I mean, it's not like all the variations of hobo heights where the map is somewhat decent. None of these are. It's not like a cool (or intelligent) concept either, like walls and bridges spawning after 3 minutes to access different parts of the map. These maps are made with no time, and are made all the time. If you ask yourself how long it would take you to make this map, and the answer is less than an hour... i don't really consider that a map worth joining a website just to post. Actually, in the old FH you had to submit a map, and if the mods thought it was good, you were allowed to join. That's one of the only reasons why I didn't join right away. I came back a few months later and they had gotten rid of that system for obvious reasons. The first wave of people to forgehub were mostly accepted through this system. The second (with me) was not, yet FH was still not that big and everyone didn't join. Mostly people who were already somewhat good. Then when bungie started talking about us, nubs spread like a plague in the third and fourth waves. We just had another one when we just got on bungie favorites. We aren't talking about farcry and i'm assumming you are. A map called random terrain generator was posted with a bunch of crap strewn all around the map. If you are talking about that map, then I'm sorry, but no. Just no. A whole section could not be made of this because beginner maps can and will be made as infection, mini game, competetative, and more. Plus, nobody would look at them, and people always think their map is better than it really is, so I doubt that they are going to click the first map button. If it were ever implemented, it would not be a section, but maybe something that you would put next to the name, like an icon. However, then it would kind of become a waste of time, because people could always just write in the thread that it was there first map if they really wanted people to know. Bold- True. However what you said next I do not agree with. There are many terrible forgers that have over a thousand posts. Post count doesn't matter, in fact it just screws everything up because people spam so much. Plus, a lot of people with a lot of posts are jerks, or would be to up tight and send away alot of ok maps that shouldn't have been sent away.
On the Wordpress blog, yes. However, I joined when it was a forum where everyone could post their maps. Hey, I can't help it if my map sucks!
Everyone should just head down to *Onamatapia* and check out those skillz. But i agree, with both you and nemi, its happened many times and it will continue to happen.
