First off let me warn you all that this thread is very text heavy, or at least this first post is. Also, this may belong in the Debates board. I was unsure, so I put it here.

The main point of this post is to receive the opinions of other moderators/members on this topic. More on that after the quotes.
Basically, I received this message Yesterday.
I replied shortly after with this message.

    And received this back.

    I have then replied.

I would appreciate the opinions or explinations (despite what I said above =P) of any other moderators, and members should post as well (I mean if you read all of that, for gods’ sake post. It’s damn long to read for nothing! =P).
I feel I do not deserve any punishment for such a menial breach of the rules, and think that this is an excellent topic to discuss.

Do you think we care? Don't post about your infraction. If you have a problem with it contact Tex. The person who gave it to you

Re: You have received an infraction at ForgeHub Halo - POST NOW FINISHED OMGZ

Edit: OMGZORZ I FINISHED MY POST CHECK IT OUT NOW!!!

It's not in the rules specifically dealing with that the map has to be completed. However, basic forums rules still apply nontheless. Also, for ****'s sake, use common sense. Posting an unfinished map is obviously gonna make you look stupid, finish the post and map before you publish it.

    Cheers Storm,

All that for one infraction point?
I think you're beating a dead horse. It seemed very justified, you broke the rules anf just action was taken. Complaining about it will not help you and will certainly not help how the mods think of you if you decide to post threads attempting to appeal an infraction.

I applaud you for actually having great sentence structure! Most people who complain about un-important stuff like this don't even bother making their words readable. So props there.

However, you are making a bigger deal out of this for nothing. I have gotten an infraction for a sig slightly larger than 500px and a warning for "spam." I agree, that one post was short, and although it was short, nobody's was much better. But I fixed it, and got over it.

Thing is, although that is great reason, you have to keep in mind what Tex said, any map posted in the maps section is assumed to be done and ready to download. Hence, you are then just stating the obvious, making the title longer than it has to be, leading to the possible stretching of a page.

So, next time, just stick to the map's name, and post it, and if you are asked to fix something, just do it, saying "No" will get you no where. Sometimes authority seems unjust, but that is how it is, and you have to accept it. If you don't like it, just leave, because it is a simple rule that isn't too hard to follow. Besides, it isn't permanent, only 3 days, and then you can pretend it never happened. Lesson learned.

Personally I think you deserve a warning. Besides your argument was very logical and well thought out. You probably received an infraction because moderators have to deal with truckloads of reports. So they usually don't have time to assess every detail. And as such to keep things moving the moderator probably handed you an infraction because he probably has about 50 more to file through and doesn't have time to really spend too long on one case. Really its not that big a deal I got an infraction also for wasting a moderators time. It has long since expired. So if I were you it would be best to just leave it as is and wait for it to expire. Besides this is a bit unnecessary a whole thread over a mere infraction point? Sorry but its not too big a deal anyway sure you will feel bad for the next day or so but after that you will just shrug it off every time you see it.

If you have a problem with an infraction you were given, take it up with an admin. Its not something you post about publicly. Locked
