65nm CPU+GPU combo in newer consoles The next big step in cost cutting, and more importantly, console durability, was putting the "Jasper" chipset in the Xbox 360. Unlike the Falcon and Opus, which trade for a 65nm CPU but retain the 90nm GPU, the Jasper drops the GPU down to 65nm as well. The new combination, which will bring production costs down, will also save you some money, as the 65nm pair draws less power than any other previous motherboard revision. More importantly to some, the Jasper has better thermal cooling because of the lower amount of heat produced. If you are peeking around for one, look for consoles with a lot number of 8031 or above, and it should be manufactered on August 6, 2008 or later. Still not sold? Guess you can wait for what will probably be the final motherboard revision, the 45nm "Vahalla". Article from: Xbox 360 "Jasper" Chipsets Showing Up In Xbox 360s - Se7enSins Homepage
Yay, my name is Jasper. Nao I need to go out and buy the next Xbox and name it after myself. Anyways, does this mean that it's slower? Or is just as powerful or more? Also, I would be glad to not have an Xbox that overheats. Doesn't help that mine is in a confined area.
