Well, now you can clip pictures and such to the file you want to have people download, so are we allowed to set a link to the file and description instead now? For a better description of how the new file share works, you can look in the last Friday weekly update
I don't think that you can do that. The rules say embedded pics, and this is no different than posting a link to pictures. It's annoying to have to follow links and click through pictures. Also, embedding your pictures makes your post look nice and presentable. People won't want to download your map without a good first impression. If the rules were changed, then we would just get these maps thrown at us with no personality or tact. We'd get lazy posts because people would think "Oh, I'll just throw some files together and post a link!" The importance of making a good impression with the quality of your post is one of the most important factors between a D/L and no D/L.
