Well, I did this all by myself using layer masks and the all mysterious "pen tool" I couldn't do it again as I forget, but there it is. I like it, but I don't like the text. It doesn't blend at all. I really don't have any other ways to blend it besides overlay mode and duplicate the layer, so I left it as it. It's intended to be very simple.

Because you need to erase the wisp by his ear, duh.

Could be for a couple of different reasons. The wisp layer might be on top of the render, and if the wisp was feathered rather than just cleared, it would show like that. Also, if you cut out the render using the background eraser tool, you might have turned a part of the render slightly transparent, thus showing something underneath it.

Also, as far as text goes:

When you're working with a virtually all-black background like in this case, setting the text layer to overlay wouldn't do a darn thing. It would most likely turn invisible.

If you right click a text layer and click Blending Options, you'll open up the Blending Options menu (what a surprise -- just double-click a text layer if it's been rasterized already). Mess around with those options and find out what they all do. They're very useful for adding effects that work well with text.

And also, don't take this as a suggestion. Take it as a command, because the Blending Options menu is one of the most frequently-used features in Photoshop, and you need to learn how to use it.

Think of it as...I don't know, a nice command? ;)

    edit: Ooops double post

Nah RaVN, I just erased the wisp end and it worked. I think. I got the render from planet renders since I'm still a bit slow at rendering things, so maybe the person before me did it? The wisps were behind the render also.

Hmm, when I'm on the text layer and right click it (actually ctrl click as I'm a mac dood), it just comes up with background, select similar layers, and if clicking directly on the text, what the text says (House M.D.)

When I click on a regular layer it does the same except the layer name instead of the text name.

I don't even know how to begin rasterization, but I double clicked it any way and nothing came up.
