Hey all, I've been making cube maps since H3 and I'm after some feedback on my latest one. This is a simple concept, 6 different environments linked together with a central passage hub. Each environment is in a room, with natural ground, walls, and a skybox. The thing that makes it interesting is that each room is on a 45 degree angle, and depending on the rooms orientation, sometimes you walk on the floor, sometimes on the walls and sometimes in the air. Lava room - Red Base Water room - Blue base Green room Moon room Ice room Desert room
Because of all the angles there are some funky looking passageways Here is the central hub that connects all 6 rooms And this is what it looks like on the outside There is a teleport at the bottom that takes you back up to the top and a plasma caster in the centre. It's set up for all currently available game types, but more testing is needed. I'm currently polishing the jumps and working on some frame rate issues due to lighting but it's almost done. I also have some gravity volumes ready to go in but am waiting till the customs bug is fixed first. I've had some hilarious play tests with mates on this thing and each time it's getting better but I'd love some more feedback from you guys, cheers. GT: SUM0 NiNJA (the 0 is a zero) Map: SUMO's CUBE
you should take a look at this map. Same concept http://www.forgehub.com/maps/perplexity.1516/ I think i will test this when i get home
Yeah cool, not a new concept by any means. I myself have been making these since H3 and know loads of others have too, but I always enjoyed them. For me this was partly for fun but also since this is my first fleshed out H5 map it was to get the hang of forge and to see what it could do
the angled maps make really mess with your perception of whats verticle. The ground pound has interesting range/attack angle on the 45 deg maps.
