After some testing and feedback, I've made some more changes. The weapon/power-up layout should be a lot better now, and I'm testing bottom mid with no cover. There's like a 400% chance I completely redesign that connection to make it not "boring af" as the kids say, but I like testing everything before changing it. Purely came to me with the original design after we had talked about co-forging. We dropped the map pretty quickly, but I picked it back up after being inspired to forge a map like storm peaks from WoW.
So after finally getting some okay testing done, I've made a few more weapon changes. I'm still going to redesign the lowest elbow connection, so If anyone has ANY ideas I would love to hear em'. Also, please play the map multiple times per session IF you're gonna play. The map has a decent learning curve, and I think each game will get better.
I've FINALLY made some aesthetic progress. All I've really done was add some gold trim, door details, and messed with fog. I think the map is finally starting to feel like storm peaks, and I'm pretty happy about that. I've found that turning the distance fog to black really nails the atmosphere, even better than the nighttime setting. All I really need to do is add the turquoise gems, snow buildup, and maybe some lanterns. Here's the original aesthetic prop if you want to understand my color scheme/texture vision. So yeah, that's where I'm at. I've tested a decent amount, and I really like how the map plays at this point. The double damage boosts are fun as hell, and the rockets bottom mid are much better than an the os was. I'm still looking to redesign that area, but it's good enough for now.
Well I was going to release it but multi said he would make me a video so I really wanna wait for that. It also requires footage, and I don't have a lot of time to play.
