    This is a mini game idea I had that was inspired by explosions and the Halo 3 Sumo mini game. The map functionally done (spawns and cinematics) and the major set pieces for the map are complete. Only thing it needs is a little touching up here and there and probably some more scenery added to make it feel more complete. I wanted to get some peoples opinions on it (mainly the aesthetics since it is a very simple mini game map) and also get it out there since i have been hinting at it from time to time in the shoutbox.

    The function part of the map is really simply because it is a circular stage that the action takes place on. There is 16 spawns all placed equally around the blue line and faced towards the center. This map was intended for the gametype I made (also needs testing for adjustment) but can be used for other gladiator or sumo like combat.

    Now on to the pretty pictures which is probably what most of you looked at first anyways.

    The stage. Little glowing white figure is a spartan if you had trouble figuring that out.

    The Stands, it is dark since from most of the stage the lighting is to far away to register so I didn't bother with lighting it, i might still go back and light it.

    The Announcer Booth, I think it looks the coolest out of everything.

    The Locker room. This is meant to just give the illusion that it is where the Spartans enter from.
    Screenshot-Original(4).png The Winning podium. The winner just doesn't take home the victory and blood of their enemies, they also get this picture of the BRAND NEW 2558 HOG!

    Feed back and ideas are welcome, the file and gametype can be found on my GT: SIR IRON WOLF. This is still getting a little more polish and construction done but the map is at about 90% done but already fully playable.

    I got on this tonight in Max's lobby. Overall I think the game itself needs some adjustments. Someone mentioned splazers and that might be smart. It was really hard to kill people, the game lasted a long time and I think there were only 6 kills in a lobby of 16 players.

    Something I would also fix right away is having players respawns On a. Viewing platform. I died by falling off the map and spent like 10 minutes staring at my lifeless corpse and listening to nerds yell into their mics.

    So overall I think the game needs some work. I would think about why would a person want to play this game I'm making. What's unique and fun about it. It's halo so it needs to have some skill base but it's a minigame so it should highlight some less often utilized mechanic or weapon or interaction. In particular I just think plasma caster is the wrong choice.

    Looking forward to seeing what you can do with this and playing again soon.

    Thanks for the feed back. The Idea of the game is to knock knock people off rather than kill them which is why there is an increase in the shields similar to the sumo mini game in Halo 3. I am going to review the twitch footage and look at additional adjustments, i knew it was going to need some. it was originally going to be a free for all king of the hill game but you can't have that in Halo 5.

    I will add a viewing box for the respawns.

    Edit: Since the mini-game depends on all player being dead at the end having a respawn viewing box would just make it so the round would never end, this wouldn't be a problem if they had the same options for mini-games like they use to but untill then i will try to find another solution if there is one.

    There's got to be a way to do it. I would ask punch I'll bet he knows. It's interesting that you want the point to be knocking people off- I think we were all trying to grab the kills with weapons. I would hone in on that and see how you can make it more obvious and give more incentive to do it- i.e. Make it easier to knock them off then anything else. I'm not sure how. But that being the point of the game already makes it seem more fun. If the point is to fly around and plasma ppl- that's kinda lame. So def keep tuning it because that sounds fun.

    Thanks, yeah a free for all king of the hill/stonghold would of made it more obvious but i could not set FFA in that gametype. I did go and increase the knock back of everything and explosion radius to make it easier to knock people off so hopefully that will help. it will still need some testing of course.

    So there isnt much more i could suggest that he hasnt mentioned. I really liked the slowed down assassinations but there needs to be a better way and speeding the game up. The map looks great but the game type needs work. Just more knock back. maybe the map field could stand to be shrunk down a little. also i think there was some z fighting thats needs addressing.

    perhaps removing the floor over time would help similar to sumo? or replace the floor with grave lifts?

    Thank you for the feedback, I ended up maxing out the knock back for everything in the revision, I also adjusted the gravity and jump height some to make it so people aren't in the air for to long but enough that the knock back and explosions are more effective. I expect the gamemode to go through another revision before it is complete. I like the idea of having the platforms disappear after a while and i might add that in depending on how the revisions of the gamemode go.
