Concept - an ancient pirate shipwreck in a natural cove. Not sure about the layout and I think it's overscaled. It's basically a 3 Lane map - far right is low, the ship is mid, and to the left is the high ground with very little cover. Haven't placed any weapons or spawns yet - anything people would like to see that might be a little different yet fit the whole piratey theme? Thoughts?
The ship definitely needs the One Eyed Willy secret chamber. Looks sick man. I hope to get some games on it soon.
Make the lower ship hull have broken open splintered wood, allowing more flow on the bottom tier Get rid of the window facade, looks corny
Don't know about secret chambers - it's a core 4v4 map after all. Due to the way the ship was build (and that it's submerged halfway, means further holes in the hull are out I'm afraid. The ship, if memory serves, uses around 400 or so pieces. Was a ***** to build.
Yeah, it'd certainly fit thematically. I might embed it in a human corpse as a pick up rather than a weapon pad though.
Big update for this one. Layout changed - it's more 'pirate fort' than natural cove now. The ship has been completely rebuilt, going from over 450 pieces to a mere 230-something. (thanks for twisting my arm on that one @WyvernZu) Still not playable, spawns/weapons are required, but it's well on the way. Will drop an update here when it's finally playable.
I hope it has One-Eyed Willy's treasure and booty traps. Otherwise, serious deductions for map rating.
I REALLY like this. The boat and houses in the background are especially great! And I like the lifeboats as a way of crossing the water. I'm sure you definitely don't have the budget, but it would be pretty cool if you could make a distant ship in the background that was firing cannons at the fort.
This map is REALLY pretty. One problem I have, and this is personal to me, is that there's a Typhon. It's kind of an OP weapon with extra lock-on and tracking capabilities and higher fire rate. Still haven't been in a lobby to test this but I'm looking forward to it.
