[WIP] Lazer Zone

    Thought i'd submit my first map for discussion/critique.

    Started this map about a month ago after stumbling across an article on laser tag arena design - obviously i had to pursue it. As of now it is set up for GREEN and ORANGE teams but will also work with red and blue teams after an editing session tonight - GvO just seemed more fitting, red and blue lights seemed too.... patriotic. Callouts and weapon placement for non-laser tag gametypes and slayer will be done tonight as well. As of now i have yet to properly test the layout - i'm imagining I will offset the structure sets in order to increase map width and reduce alley play as well as add more routes to make the rooftops more accessible from the second floors. I know this room-to-room gameplay isn't very halo, but this was designed to be played with a WIP Lazer Tag gametype that still needs proper testing. I really wanted to emulate a true laser tag arena - lights, fog, the whole nine yards - and create a gametype to match, while also keeping it halo enough to appeal to competitive players. As most of you know laser tag is traditionally CQC with a room-to-room feel including minimal avenues for mid/longer range shooting. There are a few more things i'm working on including garage doors with working switches next to the interactive ramps where the large doorways are (with switches on the bridges, demanding bridge control) so players have the opportunity to open more routes for flag carriers or shut enemy routes down. Where you see the bullet/ammo decal in the armories is where i'm intending to recreate a 'recharge' station - as you all know laser tag operates on a tower/base setting that traditionally you must return to in order to recharge/reload your blaster. Usually the tower/recharge station are the same thing - makes sense. Unfortunately we can't adjust how much ammo you spawn with as of yet but this feature can be accomplished with 1mag at spawn with 1 mag in each carbine at the recharge station. Until we can adjust ammo at spawn the recharge station will just be a wall covered in carbines with lights corresponding to the appropriate teams.
    Gametype Settings include:

    • No shield effects or display
    • No stabilization
    • No groundpounding
    • No spartan charging
    • 50% melee damage
    • Carbine start (looking to test binary as well)
    • 50% jump height
    • Shields/damage set for 5 shot kill with carbine
    • Normal sliding and sprint settings
    • 200% boost recharge delay
    • 50% clamber speed
    • Slayer, CTF, or Strongholds (Strongholds best represents tower defense
    TLDR: room to room laser tag with rooftop action, recharge stations and working doors to be added. need testers.
