Hello all, i'm back at it again with the overthought map posts. I'm currently making a linear infection map based on Alpine. You start at a crash site near sunset. It seems peaceful and serene, until the infected starts to horde. You fight your way through a small forest and happen to find an armory, you have to wait at the door for around a minute before you're granted entrance. The armory is multilevel, and also includes a vehicle lift for those that can find the warthog stranded at the start. Starting area Armory door (minus the sparks, they aren't working properly) There are several weapons hid inside several rooms in the building. Creating a risk/reward for taking time to grab weapons, and taking the risk of getting infected on entry. The lift takes 45 seconds, making it a relatively low risk ride, but its takes longer than just running through the building, infected may jump onto you if you take the lift. On the very top is a room called the master armory, it contains power weapons, but takes time to open. This is a miscellaneous item that can be utilized or abandoned. Whether the survivors choose or not is the infected's problem. The same goes for a mech located on the bottom floor next to the lift, while quite op, it is heavily damaged, and the door it's behind takes 45 seconds to open, giving infected a chance to completely surround survivors betting on it. On the top level of the building there is a door, it takes 60 seconds to open, once open survivors will run through a forest, with the possibility of having power weapons, and a heavily damaged mech/warthog. While this may sound to OP for humans, i know many will die acquiring these things. Buttons switch color when activated, They will fight and make their way to a UNSC forward operating "base" they will have to get in, and split up into two groups, each group's survival is dependant on the other. If one group is wiped out, there isn't a way for the other to survive, unless they activate the first distress protocol, and double back and activate the other. Doing that alone will be extremely hard, but once that is done, a pelican flies in, the survivors get in, then it takes off and flies away, giving the humans the win. Screenshots soon. Please comment suggestions/opinions below.
I've got a basic version of the spawning set up and the map is working fabulously. It's very similar to The Library from Halo: Combat Evolved
Thanks grinning for helping me with progressive spawning, the only thing i cant figure out is why you used rock pieces flipped over, explain! Lol.
You have to use solid objects to block spawning and it was easy to use, You shouldn't see them in the real gameplay when I get it completely up and running, be sure to save new versions with new numbers so that I can edit the correct map. No problem though. I did mess up the top room, the pillars are all supposed to despawn on zulu but idk what I did. If you want different objects used let me know and I'll replace those.
If I was you, I'd change the name. Infected Forest is the first name to spring to mind, so it is likely that somebody else will go for that name, if they haven't already. Love the map, but consider a name that is a little more unique.
Delta Team Down is the new name, it's not much more original, but it's more unique. (If that even makes sense???) lol.
