Ethereal is meant to be a 2v2 or Arena map (Haven't tested yet so I don't know if Arena is too congested). The architecture was inspired by the forerunner architecture with a bit of Roman or Greek style mixed in. The center monument has a red, flowing gobo applied to the center link. Several lifts are placed on the map, two corresponding lifts that pass over the weapons pad and one that propels users through the hole in the monument Map is built on Parallax -Red Process filter -Ascendence skybox -Grey near fog -Crimson distant fog This combination actually makes for a nice atmosphere Weapons -Shotgun -Battle Rifle (Halo 2) -Railgun (subject to change) On a personal note, this is my first attempt to create a competitive map in Halo 5 and also my first map to post here, so I don't expect much out of it. This started as a personal canvas to learn the new forge but it became something else. The aesthetics and the lighting obviously need work and the map is only in early stages.
At first glance I'm seeing a lot of really open spaces without much in the way of cover. I'm having trouble deciding how big everything is from the pics. How wide are these outside walkeays
I've now placed a three-way arch structure in front of the castle-thing (haven't named locations yet) and some more cover on the walkways to the weapons pad
