So this is what's going down. I've got an invasion map forged to it's skeletal frame. Now I just need to work on spawns, objectives, and weapons. At the beginning spawn I had a falcon spawn ahead of the spartans, which fell on a trip mine, exploded and hurled off the edge. The theatrical effect was perfect. Spartans spawn, and a shot down falcon crashes to the ground before them and explodes on contact, hurdling down a cliff. But after finishing the skeletal frame of the map, I went through all the menus and deleted "all of these" items that I didn't remember placing down (meaning a bored friend must have done it). I accidentaly deleted the falcon. So I'm trying to work on the falcon spawn (which is up in the sky), but every time I place it in a good spot and save the game, during the next round/game the falcon winds up spawning somewhere COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than where I placed it. What's going on?!
Is it spawning at a different elevation from where you put it or a different spot entirely? If it's spawning at a different elevation just grab it, put it in the sky where you want it, save your map, quit, then reload it. If it's in a different place entirely then try looking at your min/max settings and seeing if another Falcon is spawning off somewhere screwing up the placement of the one you're trying to spawn.
In order to make objects fall from the sky you must first set them in fixed or phased mode and place them where you want them to spawn. Then you must let go of the object and then right click and change it to normal physics. it will float untill hit by anything including bullets, but that only happens the first time, in a real game it won't ever get stuck in the air. Now this doesn't work with vehicles because you can't change their physics, but we use the same concept. Spawn a wall for your vehicle to sit on. place the vehicle on it and let go. Now delete the wall and the vehicle will do as what was stated earlier with other objects.
Vehicles don't have fixed or phased physics. Just place a block and put the falcon on that then delete the block. BAM done! None of that save quit crap.
BAM! Yea that works too. Probably better than what I said too. I've never had to drop spawn anything in Reach yet though so I'm not sure what the preferable method is. lol
