So my current iPod has just busted, i won't go into details. I need to get a new one and my question is this: Should I get the sexier 32GB iPod Touch for $400 (i need the space) or the cheaper, but less sexy 120GB iPod Classic for $250. I can add more fun applications with the touch, but i have more memory and money with the classic.

My current funds are around $600.

    Thanks!

    Um, no. //thread

Anyways, I'd go for the 32gig touch. Honestly, they are amazing. I wouldn't trade any other iPod (in the current line up) right now for mine. They are capable of so much! From virtual fish ponds to organizing every aspect of your life, from checking your e-mail to wiki'ing something you're curious about. Seriously, it's awesome. Go for the touch. You won't regret it.

Well it depends. If you just want music, then I say the classic. If you're looking for more then music, then go with the touch. Personally I'd pick the classic. Its got a shitload of more memory, and a shitload cheaper. I see it as a bargain, and could care less about how the touch looks. I'd rather have more songs for less money, then less songs for more money it just makes sense.

I was about to get myself a classic ipod a month ago, but i decided to wait it out for christmas and see what i got then. My parents, instead of buying me Photoshop CS4, buy me a stupid iPhone. I was pissed at first, but now i have it, im amazed at how much cooler it is. I would prefer an iPod touch cause i hate the AT&T network, but thats ok.

Ipod touches are pretty cool in their features and have an extremely long battery time. If your just listening to music, my friends gets 36 hours of battery time. i get about 24 cause of the phone.

The ipod classic would be my choice if i was going for just music.

If you want a couple cool features and some awesome music applications that let you find lots of new related songs to the ones you have, go with the touch.

If you really like listening to music go with the Classic. The amount of space and extra money you will have lets you put a lot more songs on to it. But if you like fancy features then go with the Touch. My girlfriend has an iPhone which is all cool and like but after a while it can become very gimmicky.

Also if you intend on going running or any physical activity while listening to music at the same time, don't choose the Touch as it very hard to change songs and change the volume while running.

That's where the Pocket Touch app comes in fool... I use that when running.

Anyway, iPod Touch all the way. I've got a Classic, a Touch and a Nano. Touch is the best out of them all hands down. All the latest ones, basically the Classic may as well be an external HDD now because that's all I use it for now. The Nano is cool and all but it is just another MP3 player with some nice touches, then the Touch does everything. Music, Video, Games, Net.

Just Jailbreak it and get the Installous app... =]

iPod Classic. iPod Touch is alright, but IMO I'd rather have the memory than flashy games and style and gimmicks. That's why I don't own a PS3 :)

You can't jailbreak the 2G iPod touch, so if you want to get it for jailbreaking you'll have to buy the 1G. But that one doesn't have a speaker
