Above all the things Halo had always been good at, we all have to admit that some of the art styles in previous Halo games always came of as astounding. Yet, when members of the Halo community discus certain things about the art style of the newer title's ,such as 4' and 5' people start to say that the environments etc. looked "unoriginal" and to un-Halo. So this leads to the question, IN YOUR opinion which Halo's art direction was YOUR favorite?
The environments and level design in the campaign and multiplayer in Halo 3 are by far my favorite art style. It even excites me when I see a Halo 5 map that is reminiscent of H3. Also why did anybody vote Reach?
Reach had its charms, CE was the original, and H2 was a seminal experience. But the art style, lighting, characterizations and music of Halo 3-damn son, just make HALO 3 but better! 343 plz...
In terms of straight up graphics, I am still impressed by what Halo 4 pulled out of a last gen console. But for style, I have to go with ODST. It’s crazy to think that that game runs on basically a direct copy of the Halo 3 engine.
