Remakes: they demonstrate a complete lack of creativity. Forgers hiding behind the phrase, Game Play is King, because they couldn't put two blocks together that remotely looked like they belonged together. Maps that have no theme (forge maps) or no logic to their theme (developer maps). IMMERSE ME!
Making excessively open maps because "we gotta design for sprint". I can dismiss at least half the maps I play because they are simply too damn big and open. It's like a bunch of people realized it wasn't great to throw lazy cover everywhere so they went to the other extreme of having no cover at all.
I'd add "remakes by inexperienced or untalented forgers", because some remakes are certainly fun to play, but many of them I just load up and look at the gaps between pieces and poor usage of pieces, and then unbookmark immediately. People put "remake" in their title just so people will bookmark it. Then, because it's the most popular, even MORE people bookmark it!!
For H5 forge? Domes. I gotta go domes all the way. I get it, 343i didn't give us half spheres, but that's not an excuse to use half Africa's resources for one meh looking asset. It looked good on shurima and it was domeleaf. If your anyone other then @xdemption or @Xandrith you aren't allowed to use them!
the map I'm workin on has a dome above a cylindrical room, but it isn't very well lit. Heck, since I am getting close to max pieces, this may actually have to go the way of teh Dodo and replaced with a single block, since it doesn't add much to the room's asthetics anyway.
#DOMESMATTER It's actually amazing to me how much 343 went heavy into circular objects. Circular architecture was one thing I advocated them to include but they went way over my expectations. It's also quite amazing that the xb1 supports circular models in high density.
Ew. Like, why? That design only exists as a shitty homage to Midship restricted in how good it is by Foundry.
