If anyone doesnt know what a ferret cannon is go HERE and make one immediately,there awesome So basically on my third attempt at actually finishing a map i want to have two of these things to cause chaos and...more chaos So i built two to make sure i could do them properly But this happened a few times while i was test firing them. Hilarious and all as this would be to happen during a game -if you were an attacker anyway- i dont think the map playing community at large would approve. Now the problem as i see it is either the mancannon or something else is causing the dumpster to merge with the floor...and the it glitch fires and causes me to die in a horrible painful and funny way. I have no idea how to stop this happening and while another cannon i built has yet to do this i can't be sure. So how do i stop this? I know it might have made more sense to post this over at the artificiers site but this is more to do with stopping movable objects merging with the ground than with the switch itself. Plus theres more petential people with answers here
ummm, I usually make it up higher and never had that problem, but try putting a teleporter below it, they don't like merging with them
I'll give it a shot.Hopefully it was just an isolated incident with me because otherise my map would look father stupid in the end if the defenders randomly died when using there secret weapon
I think maybe interlocking another container or whatever you're using to contain the dumpster in the same spot as the one you're using... It may help, it may not... It would increase your walls mass and stop it from gltiching out... hopefully... :S
Walls?lol theres no walls in my primitive design.hehe i have the bare minimum put on these ones. I was just prepping a design to stick into the map when the time comes. If you look at the vid the whole set up consists of a bridge,a turret,a dumpster and a mancannon However that teleporter thing coyote suggested seems to have worked on all my firing so far so thats good. And another thing that could be nice if you could help me with is. Im using a slight deviation on the sliding door to make one that will automatically open and close. Im pretty sure its sound,all i have to do is mess with respawns. BUT on the bit ive made so far the pieces of fusion coil left over stop the dumpsters form falling down the whole way. And if i put a blcoker like the B sign on coyotes bnet post the explosion doesnt blow the grav lift...is there something im missing Strike that i figured out a way to fix it myself with windows
When you have a wall betweem it. it takes 2 fusion coils to blow it up, try setting a fusion coil at the bottom by the B sign, that way it will have twice the power.
Yeah thats what i did,help it down form the grav lift with a weapon holder. Mpa withs complicated bits are alot more fun to make than static ones btw. This is the farest ive got into a map without being bored.
