Gotta keep the rifle with you at all times for me. I don't play MLG but I love the BR. It is a good range weapon and can take anybody down in a few bursts
spartan laser I can never get enough of shooting banshees right out of the sky sandtrap and standoff (heavy version)
Just look at any famous players' service records and you will know the answer. If you looked, its because its such a good all around weapon, and can dish out a decent amount of damage. It's good for all maps in matchmaking.
