I always thought this was interesting. Sometimes you see crazy names on here or XBL and you wonder, "Why did you name yourself 'Meatbus'??" or "Why is your name Sniper34025ae?" (Both true accounts). I wanted to start a thread for you guys to explain yourselves! It's like a superhero's origin story. Let's hear it! Alright, me. First off, name pronunciation. I've gotten Yek-OW, Yi-kOW, whatever. It's not any of those, but we'll get to that. Let's begin with describing the origin. I'm half-Japanese and do take pride in that. However, I have an internal struggle with me being half Caucasian and half Japanese due to World War II. We all know what happened there. += To celebrate my Japanese heritage in a racist sort of way (refer to "internal struggle") I started the word "Yellow". At first I wanted to switch out the "Yellow" for the Japanese pronunciation "Yerrou". I figured, I could be a little nicer, so I switched out the "r"s with "k"s. Now we have Yekkou (pronounced the same way as Yellow, 'cept with "k"s). You're welcome. Who's next?
My GT used to be Aimless Wonder. I liked it because it described my (lack of) Halo skill. It provided a good avenue to break the mood with people that got mad at me for sucking (which happens a lot when you're a bad player and all you play is the Hardcore/MLG playlist. ) When I started getting somewhat active on forums, I wanted to have something simple and memorable. I started thinking about things I liked: Books, Foods, Movies, etc. The Goonies wasn't at the top of my list, but had some memorable characters. The obvious one that stands out is Chunk. The GT Chunk was already taken, so I went with 'a Chunk'. I had recalled playing with someone called 'a Squirt Gun', and having a good laugh when it said 'You were killed by a squirt gun'. I thought it would mildly entertaining to see the kill feed say that someone was killed by a chunk. The End.
Schnitzel was my call sign in one of the units I was stationed with, and I held a security clearance, so I was literally a Secret Schnitzel. Pretty straight forward.
My original tag was Jorkman way back on the original Xbox. It was an anagram of my name and my brother's (Mark and Jon) as we shared the account. My brother kept that tag and I moved on to others. I picked this one because I didn't want a bunch of numbers and filler characters around my name, and this is the first thing I though of that wasn't taken.
I like exploring, and i like oak trees. I often engage in tge best of both worlds: Explorer Oak! Not to be confused with proffessor Oak, and dora the explora
These are the most popular ways that people will mispronounce my gamertag: Ar-Pull Ar-Pell Ar-Paul Ur-Pull Ur-Pell Ur-Pall Ur-Paul Occasionally I will get called Ron Paul. The proper way to pronounce RPAL is simply R and Pal. Combining Our and Pal into one word effectively creates the correct pronunciation of RPAL. (Not saying Our Pal exactly, but it works fine since people seem to have trouble with AR-Pal) The letters are an acronym containing the first letter of my name and names of my siblings.
My original gamertag was BKBillsFan. This was like my i give up gamertag. I tried approx 30 different names and they were all taken so i just threw my initials in front and a quick shoutout to my favorite sports team. GO BILLS. Being ridiculed for being a bills fan just became part of xbox. After I got my Xbox One I realized I had no idea what my old xbox login info was. I knew the email was like 5 emails old and the password was just as old. I was locked out. So I said screw it and made a new account. xxBRYTExx is my current gamertag. I originally tried BRYTE but it was taken so I added the xx's. BRYTE is the first 2 letters of my first name and the last 3 of my last name.
My old GT was Jace Taran. That came from the early 2000's when I joined a sort of Star Wars role playing site based around the X-Wing pc games. You would create a rebel pilot persona, have your own squadrons, and each month you would download a new custom mission to play in-game. When it came time for me to come up with a persona, I remember liking the name of a character from the x-wing novels named Bror Jace (character was a d-bag, but I liked the name). I thought of being Taran Jace at first, but decided I liked it better flipped around to Jace Taran. Then my senior year in high school I made a Star Wars fan film for the school film festival, and named one of the characters Jace Taran (who I played in the fan film). My current GT came about several weeks back when I decided I wanted to start really getting back into Forge & posting videos of my creations. I wanted something that fit with Forge area of interest, which is mostly aesthetic maps of spaceships. I wanted to be The Shipyard at first, but that was taken, and The Forge Shipyard was too long (even without spaces) & didn't sound right without the "the." I finally settled on Starship Forge, which I thought was cool because it could either be taken to mean a forge that builds starships, or a starship named Forge (which both kinda work for me).
I came up with the tag xXProSn1epzMLG420Xx while- oh, wait. I came up with Psychoduck back when I was playing Star Wars Battlefront on the original Xbox. My friend at the time used the name Cheesomatic and I wanted something equally random. Psychoduck had a nice ring to it, and Duck is a pretty simple nickname to roll with especially since it starts with the same letter as my first name and is the same length. It's something which didn't have any real meaning when I came up with it, but it has taken on its own meaning over the last -11 years of use.
I like wolves so i wanted something that sounded cool with wolf in it, so i originally picked IRON WOLF 412. I had that for many years and then changed it to FTG IRON WOLF once i got involved heavily in a gaming community. After i left the community because they were corrupt and i got tired of the whole gaming community/clan thing after doing it for 7 years. I wanted to change my gamertag but still keep it what everyone knew me by but also i wanted something that looked original. I knew The IRON WOLF was taken and a few other options so i tried one that i thought for sure would be taken but wasn't, and that tag is now my new here to stay tag, SIR IRON WOLF.
Went out drinking with my brother and his friends a long time ago. Took a 2 am trip to perkins for some grub, waitress was going around asking everyone what they wanted to drink. Everyone said water then she asked me and I simply replied "chocolate milk." Ever since then my nickname was C-milk, so it just came to Xbox naturally. p.s. chocolate milk > apple juice
so you know how in America, in about second or third grade they teach you that PH has an F sound? My friend has that at the beginning of his gamertag and people repeatably say it with a P sound rather than the F sound and it sounds hilariously stupid and turns out they legitimately don't know the proper pronunciation.
well, on halo 4 I had the fotus helmet (I have the h4 360) and so, some friends on there called me unicorn, and I got used to it so when I created a new acc for my XBone I thought: well, I'm the unicorn. but dah sounds better than the...
In a nutshell: Although, due to my overwhelming "Britishness", I pronounce it Sick-a-Mick-an-ick-o Sik for short is just fine.
my gt is iTzfknChomper I get Chomper because my name is Ch arles M ichael ~~~oper (censored last name for privacy) Jumble a few letters in my full name and I can spell Chomper. The iTzfkn doesn't really have much meaning since Chomper was taken already
GT: Ticky IV My name is Nick and my last name is Truesdell, so I combined them in this sort of way. The reason it has the roman numeral IV at the end is because it is the fourth iteration of the gamertag. It went like this: ticky12 iTz Ticky TlCKY (lowercase "L" for an "I") >Ticky IV So there you have it. I sometimes get mistaken for "Tricky" which is kind of funny, and it's a better name so I get kind of sad
