Eh, I have no idea why I'm making this. Whatever. I play a mean alto saxaphone. And I'm sorry if the poll options are vague, only 10 options available and you have to be fair. So do any of you play instruments? And do you play them well? I may not be the best saxaphonist in the High School Band but for a Freshman being tied for the best aint half bad. Then again, there's three saxaphones, two flutes, four trumpets, six percussionists, and a clarinet. Hm... Our new band teacher is still learning that. On the bright side only the trumpets suck in our band, the rest of us sound professional. I understand that it is hard to produce a good tone on a trumpet, but these kids aren't even trying. What kind of band music do you like? I prefer fast pieces, with varied tones. So there's our topic. Yeah. Mad I'm telling you what I'm thinking? Deal with it.
Guitar win. I finally got my rickenbacker 360 12 which cost me hella lotta money, but it's the guitar that gave the beatles their sound so I guess it has to be good. That also ties in with what kind of music I listen to. I like the old stuff like the beatles and the rolling stones, I also like some not so melodic stuff, like slipknot. Really it depends on how I'm feeling. In b4 everyone
I'm learning the Guitar, although I really want and would much rather learn to play the piano. 2 Months of practice and I've gotten down to 4 strings including the High A, I am currently learning the Sharp F's. I do practice slowly so that I may actually memorize and be as familiar as possible with the note before I move on to the next page.
Pretty sure this is a copy of another thread... but anyway, I play Guitar first and foremost, with Harmonica and piano falling into my arsenal in second and third place.
I play bass. String bass. I really like it, and I'm really good. I'm the best in my school orchestra, although that's not very hard, and I'm in my city's youth symphony. I'm also gonna be in jazz band. I really like music that has deep bass undertones, especially when it's a walking bass line.
I do drums and vocals for me and friends' band. I can play very limited guitar, being the only song I know how to play is come as you are by nirvana which I can sing fairly well, drums not so much as I picked them up a couple months back so I'm getting used to it but its coming naturally. Music I listen to includes nirvana, foo fighters, eminem, hollywood undead, staind, p.o.d., fort minor, linkin park, escape the fate, scary kids scaring kids, ozzy, stone temple pilots, alice in chains, creed, pearl jam, breaking benjamin, mudvayne, korn, nickleback... Etc. The list is actually bigger than I thought, so pretty much I listen to it if it has good rhythym guitar and beat and doesn't talk about sex or gangs every third word.
Does anybody play the cello? It's like the coolest instrument ever, and if they didn't cost so freaking much I'd go buy one.
I always wanted to play chello (Guqin and Erhu too), but they all cost too much money for me to afford to buy one for a long time. So for now, I play base clarinet (regular clarinet too) and some alto.
I personally play keyboard as my main instrument. I'm self-taught for 3 years. I don't really play much anymore though, because school gets in the way of playing much at home. And I'm getting to learn guitar... it's not nearly as easy to learn as piano.
Guitar FTW! I've been playing guitar for seven years now, and I got my Paul Reed Smith Mira, my favortie guitar in my collection of 4. Also got 2 ibanezes and a crappy acoustic.
I know. He asked why violas were up there and I think he mistook violons for violas. Anyway, RST, Bass is 10x better than cellos, except you can do some pretty cool solos on cellos, but anyway I have my own bass, and I've been playing for 3 years. I even started out on cello and played for half a year, I liked it, but I like bass more.
I have to disagree, no offense. With a bass you can do what? Lay down a basic beat for the rest of the band, or double it up for a pretty cool effect I suppose. The cello can make some pretty haunting music man. I'd much rather hear an amazingly haunting dirge from a solo cello than a solo bass.
