Halo Wars doesn't even have a release date set? I honestly don't think it will make it out in '08. As far as people being concerned about an RTS on a console, the control scheme seems pretty solid, and that's the only thing that breaks an RTS on a console. The only thing I'm concerned about is selecting units.
Well, I'm not into RTS type games in general so I don't know. I might give this a try when it comes out...
I'm a huge RTS fan...literally had an obsession with StarCraft for many years. I've never played a console rts, and im wondering how well it'll work. Sure it'll be great for the point-and click RTSers...but for longtime players who primary use shortcuts over the mouse, it'll be interesting to see the change. However, I'm pretty sure it'll turn out fine, since its ground up for 360, and everyone else will have the same disadvantage for you. All in all, Halo Wars and StarCraft 2 are my most awaited games of 08.
I loved playin Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and Age of Empires so im most likely gona get Halo Wars
The control scheme for this game is being built from the ground up for console since it's a 360 only release so I hopeful that the controls will be a little more intuitive than other console rts. (hopefully similar to CnC3 that game was fun on 360)
If anyone has watched the "bringing it home" trailer thingy from marketplace, they touch on the control scheme and it looks pretty solid.
I always wanted a real time strategy game and I found many fun ones; but I wanted one that would be a bit more popular for online play. Everyone loves halo so this will probably be popular. All that to say that I can't wait for the game and it will probably be better than Halo 3 IMO.
Looks+ sounds good, very precise with the details, I'm getting it. Plus with SCII coming, it'll be a good time for the RTS genre. Just sucks that They'll probably only have two forces.... Oh well, Tiberian Sun did well in that regard.
Its not even made by bungie, but its a Halo title so I am going to get it anyway. I just hope there is some editor so I can make everything I want.
I think it is going to be awsome. I have already reserved it. C&C 3 was my first strategy game and love it. I also heard that there is FPS coming out from the C&C series. I love it an FPS from C&C and a strategy from Halo, the world just flipped upsidedown. Matt Johnson: E-town, Indiana Get-stuck!!
They seem to know what the people want, and are putting all the right things in. They also spend alot of time listening to thier community, which is (or used to be) bungies speciality.
