hi-test flow, less wacky than the last one, but still a little weird you really think 30%?? it seems pretty tiny already.. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 15, 2017 --- I really want to work on this holy **** how are turbolifts gonna work? btb? 4v4? what era? seems like original series would be best, given the aesthetic similarities it has to H5 forge pieces - was watching it last night and Kirk's artwork is literally type of **** we were making for qrbrbbrrrlbrlbsrlsrbls map
also, name should be "Menagerie", "Balance of Terror", "Triskelion", "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield", or "The Enterprise Incident"
newest Spartan abilities announced for halo 6!!!!!! https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1393626100686564
No but I can unfortunately see Spartans being able to walk on water or do some weird jump thrust off it
I see what you mean, actually I think I'll grab an entire side of the map and rotate it to shorten the bridge, and put in a thinner one
First thing I've scripted in these 20 months. http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/MULLERTJE/video/35202192 Pathetic.
What the **** do you mean "Building for 1v1's is very forgiving and easy to balance"? 1v1 maps if well built are a "dance' as quake players will call it. These are not your normal morning shits bud.
I meant what I said, that building for 1v1 is very forgiving and easy to balance. You can get away with almost anything, which puts the focus on creativity and art. I already explained myself with more detail. Feel free to reply to that post. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 15, 2017 --- Oh my gosh what are those fog settings, that would be perfect for an Idea I'm working out looks really good though, seriously
Well.. Was that you trying to be funny? Probably not. Any map can be easy to balance, doesn't mean they all are. You saying this basically says you know a lot about 1v1's when every 1v1 you've built was just a simple shape! So. Yes. Easy maps are easy to balance but for people who actually try to make something complex, it's much more.
I just closed shop and almost asleep. I can check for you in 6 hours from now. Or I'll open the file and you can see for yourself.
I'm not sure where this hostility is coming from but I can tell you don't actually care to exchange Ideas. I'll touch on a few points and move on. The 1v1 map that I built like 3 years ago has literally nothing to do with my perspective. That's a pretty stupid argument and I don't care to entertain it. What does have to do with my perspective on 1v1s in Halo 5 are my experiences forging with Longshot early on in the game. I personally think all 2 (or 3?) of his maps are the best 1v1 maps in the game, and from what I understood he rarely thought about balance. Everything I've seen since then has only reinforced that Idea. If you'd like to provide a valid counter-argument, I'd be glad to hear it. Until then, I'm going to stop replying.
This isn't an argument. This is me saying YOU are wrong. I'm done with kids saying "Oh.. Building 1v1's is so forgiving, it's so easy, like anyone can do it". Like they know everything about forge. Cocking off that they know what their saying because they watched longshot build some map. You build a good 1v1 then.. Actually just don't say anythings easy. ever.
I think that 1v1's are easy to balance for people with a solid understanding of level design, and not easy to balance for people that don't understand how to balance Halo maps. That doesn't mean it's easy to make a great 1v1 map. It just means it's harder to make a terrible one. 1v1's thrive off of imbalance, so balanced doesn't always equate to 'good' or 'fun'.
Chunk with the trufax A good map is an unbalanced map. Halo 5 has a lot of "balanced" maps and I think we know how people feel about them...
That's a great explanation. Also, Chunk made like 4 top notch 1v1 maps in h2a. You can listen to him Canadian!
