It plays well. So, thanks for proving my point. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 13, 2017 --- He'd be wrong.
Bars are round objects and Xzamplez only sees in black and white blocks. Once I've tidied up my current project, I'm going to stream myself forging a generic ass bread and butter blockout from start to finish. You did it the last time and it fell on deaf ears, but who knows. Maybe this time it'll put an end to this nonsense.
And guess what? The map Multi made trying to prove a point would play terribly. So, you doing the same thing would only prove my point.
Says the guy whose idea of "simplifying" his map is removing one of its most functional routes and replacing it with a middle that is just a bunch of doors. You couldn't even begin to fathom why Xzamplified will play well because it doesn't fit your narrow mold of "gameplay oriented level design." I could make 10 Xzamplez blockouts in a week before you made one map with a geometry inherent theme. I will literally start right now if you had the audacity, but you are intellectually incapable of backing up any of the garbage you post. How is it "all talk" when you say "the map has no flow" and I explain why you are wrong? You sure you didn't forge yourself into a box of mirrors there?
Glad to hear you'll keep an open mind, that's the best thing anyone could take away from this discussion. Apologies for the verbiage, didn't mean to get too high on my word count. I actually enjoy these intellectual sparring matches which is why I got carried away but I'll try to keep it short and sweet. I wouldn't want to play 1v1 swords on coag either as its important to know where the threshold of limitation sits. As I stated before, Forge is an art form but also a science. Regurgitating Multi's logic wasn't necessary but the two of you share so much in common, I thought you would have been more amenable to reevaluating your perspective whether you agreed with it or not. In any case, I really enjoyed the discussion and glad some people were able to get something out of it.
LOL I wasn't even going to post this but since you insist The image on top is from mlg xzamplified that I made in an hour several months ago to show that anyone can do what you do. The image on the bottom is the map you posted several weeks ago. You didn't even realize it but 80% of your map is the exact same thing as the one I made to make fun of you LMAO. Every path leading out of sight in the pictures do so in the same exact manner, they curve in the same direction with the same 90 degree hooks, the stairs curve up to the same area, and the teleporter in my map takes you right above, where you have a lift that does the same thing. Why is it that I make a better xzamples than xzamples?
If you're referring to These Walls, it just shows how lost you are. I took out the top tier. That's all I did. Swing, and a miss. It doesn't fit my mold, yet it's intention was to replicate my style. Another miss. I doubt you could, because my blockouts play well. Strike three, you're done. All talk. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 13, 2017 --- Except my map plays well.
"Plays well" is an ambitious way to describe anything you've produced but I digress. It's not hard to make a generic 4 room block out play well. You should see what I can do in TWO hours.
Nah. Nobody takes you seriously man, because this isn't even about me. It's about the flat out false trash you have posted in this thread in every single design discussion for the last few months, and every ****ing time you have backed down or sidestepped when your fallacy was exposed. Every. Single. Time. If i'm all talk then you're no talk because you expect your maps to do it for you. I'd bet they don't even play as well as you think. I'll run a lobby on them and demonstrate how easy they are to break and how lousy your generic geometry plays in Halo 5. Again, you're still forging like it's 2010 and you will never get better; you refuse to try and perhaps it's because you know you're a hack.
Before this all starts getting out of hand, how about we all take a step back for a few minutes and evaluate what is going to be said next. It has been an interesting week already so lets have at least a few days where we aren't at each others throats shall we? Since we are all adults here i'm going to issue a verbal warning to everyone to start changing their tone into a more positive manner. You can continue to discuss design philosophy and suck whoevers **** you want but keep the name calling, insults, and/or threats (including passive aggressive ones) out.
Ya know, I apologized to Xzamplez a while ago because I felt like I was being unnecessarily hostile towards him instead of respectfully disagreeing. And yet every single discussion since then has resulted in the same exact set of circumstances. He'll quote someone to start **** and say something completely ass backwards, and then someone will make a counter point, and he'll either throw more shade or quote something else to steer the topic away. It's intellectual dishonesty, plain and simple, and he thinks he is getting away with it because of some imaginary level of clout he holds. I'm sure if we met in real life we'd have a beer and maybe a decent conversation about something, but the way Xzamplez talks about Forge makes me think he's already had one too many drinks in his life. I'm done with this childish "I know you are but what am I" **** though. I'll just be sure to include a bird feeder on my map for the delicious crow eating. The next time Xzamplez makes a completely off base claim and refuses to be accountable for it, I'm going to respond with the kind of respect that behavior deserves. If that's a problem for the summer fever ban happy mods at ForgeHub, then do yourselves a favor and permaban this account.
Yes, and I respectfully accepted your apology and agreed to cool it. It's you attacking me for my style and method of creating maps that turned me hostile toward you. And the way you ended that exchange took it to the next level. Throw in a mis-quote by Multi to label me as a "forge kid", and here we are.
Would you rather us treat our bans as infallible and our opinions as law? (PS I see the joke a mile away, ha ha) Like Iron said, this week has been pretty crazy both on and off site for many of us. I for one have been mentally exhausted due to ineffective workers at my restaurant, and am bound to make a couple more mistakes before this emotional high noon ends for me. TlDR Plz be nice to me I'm tired Edit: I totally forgot we have an ignore button to avoid seeing stupid posts. 10/10 would ignore again
Not ready to yet. I will when I'm more happy with it. War, you're not doing any favors by making **** like this public. Keep it between you and Xandrith. If you're really in the right, you shouldn't need the rest of the forums validation about it.
I attacked you for making ridiculous and false statements and refusing to articulate yourself. And you continue to deflect those points even after diagrams and mountains of text that would ordinarily cover all of the bases. The difference between me and you in this fued is that I admitted when I was wrong about your map; you on the other hand are too prideful to even hint as such. You have to know half of what you say is complete rubbish. I don't need to prove myself as a designer to you. I'm more likely to get a job at 343 than I am to create a map that you think would play well because you've demonstrated complete contempt for any sort of thorough discussion on the subject outside of your own views. I've had you on ignore for like 2 weeks because you've thrice now quoted me randomly to pick a fight over a perceived slight when I wasn't even referring to you. Perhaps it's time to go back to that.
If you make a formal request to be permabanned then I can do that, but once it is done there can be no take backsies.
