Why don't we have the forge critics and staff compile a giant list of dope 2v2 maps and have the community vote on the choices? Cesspool for 2v2
I made it playable for core gametypes. Only to troll the testing lobby kids. I get off on making an ass of myself
Love the idea. Definitely needs a new line-up of maps in my opinion. Arcanum is cool. Purple reign was easily the worst of the choices from the original contest though. Don't really like talking bad about people's creations but man was the map both very uninteresting (even for someone who like flat repetitive battles in most cases) and poorly designed with glaring flaws in nearly every aspect from bumpy floors, Swiss cheese lines of sight, one one direction of flow, and terrible spawning. Though spawning isn't anyone's fault, I still mostly considered the map flawed as opposed to dislike due to personal preference. Sorry to butt in with a negative note but I'd honestly rather not see a contest than with maps of that quality. Also, could we please have it be for classic settings if there are enough quality maps built with the settings in mind? I would even get back into forging for a classic settings forging contest realistically.
Getting mad at H5 Forge for your maps not turning out how you envisioned is like getting mad at Minecraft for being too blocky.
HE IS RIGHT YOU KNOW... I do thoroughly agree with your posts about map geometry, flaws in the game options, but you do complain so much about how the game sucks. There are a lot of good maps that are made in Forge when you look at it for what it is - a lego version of a map maker.
@Blaze the map isn't that bad but we can switch it out with something newer. @Given To Fly I really like the way highguard looks but there's something about the gameplay that seems disorganized and stifling to me. I think that's just my memory of 4v4's on it. 2v2's should be much better, we'll include it to the line up. This is where we are, seems like a great start for a tourney: Storm Peaks, Highguard, Nemesis, Arcanum, Hazard
I think it would be good to make a video of the maps as a showcase / advertisement on the Youtube channel to promote the tournament. It should have a fly through of each map in the tournament and showcasing the powerups. Also on the tournament page and threads there should be overhead views of the map layouts. A lot of people interested in playing in the tournament may not have ever seen the maps and they would be more well received if there was supporting content to gain interest/learn about the maps ahead of time. Can they load up the maps and walk around on them if they want? YES, but the content would help a lot.
