Art and all, the map should only be around 700 pieces or so. That being said, I want to continue the 'islander city' theme and make some more structures in the water off in the distance. As far as the believable stone goes, I think I finally found a use for the curved edge of the detailed blocks --- Double Post Merged, Aug 2, 2017 --- Hell Yeah bruh, I'll be on today
If I were you I'd use this piece of concept art and merge it with that town from the movie Waterworld. A bit of dystopia allows more wiggle room in design when dealing with the limited objects in forge.
Eggzellent I'll be on around 5pm PST for about 20 mins then later for a more normal amount of time --- Double Post Merged, Aug 2, 2017 --- That's not concept art, that's the 'Universal Studios Somali Pirate Drug Bust' set *edit* 'duh' it's from the movie waterworld no wonder I couldn't remember its proper name
Looks really good, I'll probably take a bit from it (haven't seen this waterworld you speak of though) And as far as limited forge objects goes, I'm only as limited as the amount of ganj left in the bag lol. I mean I've made animals you can freaking fight inside of
You are missing out on a classic piece of cheezy movie history. I highly recommend you watch this movie.
it'll look bad in Forge because we don't have half of those textures or a canvas to put it on. You can make it on Tidal, but hiding the background of the canvas will be very difficult, and at that point you're going to either sacrifice lighting with chromaboxing, or immersion by telling the player that this is the only structure in the entire ocean. It's really just not worth pursuing beyond a blockout/proof of concept.
Bruh the layout is done and I'm at 250 pieces, I think I have some wiggle room As far as textures go I know its pretty limiting, but it won't stop me from flushing out the complete thought. Ain't no 343 gonna stop me with their shitty textures. Also what helps me is remembering that everything used to be crayon textured, so it's better than nothing (subjective lol)
This is why I don't like Forge in Halo 5 anymore. You can make some really cool stuff....if you stick to a small pool of themes. And even then, the size and scope of the map is limited. As soon as you branch out of that, you're fighting terrible textures and arbitrary budgets. One of the maps i'm working on has really nifty Forge-paving concepts, a solid layout, and great piece usage. But it's a far cry from my intended art goals and is still going to drop frames. So what's the point in finishing it for this game?
Its actually a very simple momentum script with a boundary, it has its own section too, everytime the object swings back into it it gets the script and swings back. However it looks like he used gravity sliders to push it instead, there are really several ways to do this. Momentum scripts are more reliable though.
To make a space of virtual reality in which I can relieve my mind of being addicted to moving an imaginary reticle around in a dance with other minds that hold the same addiction.
Hate to be this guy but everything I've seen from qrrb has looked like hot Garbage. Bet my bottom dollar this won't be an exception. Even the most capable of forgers aren't making that concept look halfway decent in H5 forge. Just no lol EDIT: MAYBE as an art piece only, and that's a big maybe.
...Pictures your avatar, Anthony Weiner asking if someone wants to make a love child... with that exact same expression on his face...
Haven't really seen you trying to help me grow as a forger, so I don't really think you have the room to be 'that guy' My only goal has been to improve, so hopefully my 'garbage' is at least getting colder? Even though I'm hurt, I'm honestly asking
I avoid movement scripts like the plague. Way too unreliable/inconsistent. The movements on that clip and on Perpetuance are all pure physics. Creamy smooth --- Double Post Merged, Aug 2, 2017 --- I wanna see where it goes Qrrby. Looks neat. Don't worry about salty. He doesnt even forge
Oh yeah they are beyond awful, I cant even get a hinged door to work smoothly, everything that moves has the terminator effect and looks stop motion.
