How do we start this update download? i start up halo 5 and it just tells me i cant play online, no prompt to download or anything
^ What Auburn said. Shut down your XB1 and unplug it. Plug it back in after a short wait, and start it up again.
Since I'm stuck at work all day can someone please please please check to see if we can trigger scoring through scripting so I don't drive myself crazy all day?
Im just waiting for the first poorly done, rushed map just so someone can have the "FIRST ON HALO 5" title.
Above Overgrowth there's no sky barrier. I'm planning on blocking off the actual map with terrain pieces. These sweet oriental buildings are awesome landmarks for the map. The only downside is they have no collision. Fortunately, though, we have invisible blockers to give them collision! Hopefully it'll turn out well (;
I can't wait to start seeing what you guys are working on in Halo 5. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but I DO have another preview of a map I'll be working on in Halo 5. This one's called Spaz, and it's another remake/re-imagining of an old map of mine, from Halo 4. The video shows two alternate versions. I'm leaning more towards the second design, but I'm definitely open to suggestions.
Heck yeah, more map previews. The single-color palette is giving me a bit of trouble understanding what's exactly going on - hopefully it'll be clearer in the H5 palette. Question - are the teleporters to the higher levels in the first version necessary at all (considering that you've removed them in the second without - I'm assuming here - ill effect)?
I know these block outs make depth perception difficult. I didn't have any plans to show them when I was building them. I just wanted to get the basic structures down so I had something to build off of in Halo 5. I wouldn't say the teleporters are absolutely necessary, and I don't really like their placements, but without them there's only one route to each of the third level platforms. The second version has the jump up that allows player to get to both platforms pretty quickly.
Any specific unit size people are using, I got to mess around with it today and made a map for giants.
Objects in Halo 5 are measured in feet, as opposed to those in previous games that were compatible with meters. Previously each forge unit equaled 3 meters, so to get a point of reference, convert feet to meters and divide that number by three.
1 unit in old forge equals 8 feet here. Thats what I've been using as a reference point. Hope it helps.
I am currently 60% of the way to remaking my map Obsidian for Halo 5. Basically I am making a mirror image of the map so it fits more people as that was my original idea but was restricted in MCC due to budget. You can check out an old version of Obsidian on my profile if you want to get an idea of what it will look like. Kind of has a Lockout aesthetic now in Halo 5. Shitty picture but you should get the idea. The white specks are snow.
