If were talking about the ignorant, lazy, self defeating African American culture then YES. It does have a lot to do with slavery. You can thank slavery for its existence. If Africans hadn't been brought to America on slave boats in the mass numbers they were, then guess what? There wouldn't be near the amount of Americans of African descendant living in America and the ones that did would likely live in a much differing socioeconomic situation then those currently living here do. Its highly likely the AA "culture" that plagues the AA youth of America would be non existent if this were the case. How shallow is your sight xandrith? Do you really think the negative effects of slavery are gone? This is almost laughable. Slavery was abolished in 1865. 1865. On a societal level that is not long at all

You do, it's just not conscious thought anymore. What is a given concept for you, fully understood and accepted, might not be something another person hasn't come across before. Seriously not directed at you but stemming from that thought, I think a good bit of the frustration in this thread comes from people feeling like they're constantly repeating themselves but forgetting that not everyone knows what they know. When a person who has knowledge shares it with those who don't, they usually have to debate it for some time to be fully understood. This person constantly meets others who don't know what they know and has to repeat the debate over and over. That alone gets terribly frustrating, and when the recipient has some reluctance to changing their mindset it only increases the frustration.
Yeah it takes much longer to understand opposing viewpoints over the internet because you can't just bounce questions and hypotheticals around like you can over voice or in person

Politics and religion are two highly debatable subjects that lead to people being butt hurt. I personally would leave all those things somewhere else, but people love to discuss it.
