The new lighting effects look amazing, making infection maps with solid themes is what I'm most excited for tbh. I'll start on an aesthetic piece first to get used to forge but there was a lot of stuff I wish I could've done in the linear maps I made way back when and I'd definitely love to reboot it and make more episodes using the new forge pallet.
I'm hoping someone could answer if this is possible before I get my hopes up: I want to make a volcano that shoots out tons of pig dolls, but I want to have it where the dolls kill you instantly upon contact. My question...is it possible to weld kill boxes on the dolls?
don't think i've seen anything regarding vehicles, but if we can weld particle effects to stuff i think kill balls on pigs would work, perhaps kill volumes as well.
I was going to say...you could easily make a Tie Fighter and weld it to a Banshee it if were possible.
I've been thinking about this for a while, you can't merge onto vehicles but what about around it? Can we give basic forge pieces regular physics in game and form a structure around a vehicle?
Hey I haven't been around these parts much for a very long time but I just wanted to say it's cool to see you still here posting. Grifball is the reason I originally got into Forging. Not sure if you remember me but I was one of the co-creators of the game Smashball back in Halo Reach. Grifballhub ended up making an April fools day video using Smashball and I was very proud of that! On topic here...And since I'm late to this party it seems like you've had some hands on experience with the new Forge. Is that right or wrong? Just by some of the posts I've read of yours in this topic it seems you have. Do you have any insight into how powerful the scripting actually is? I've mentioned this a whole lot since returning to this site recently but being able to use scripting to trigger scoring would be a HUGE deal. Do you have any insight into if this is possible in the new forge? It would open up so many possibilities if we could.
I don't have any experience with scripting Halo 5 so you will have to wait with the rest of us. On a brighter note you might be able to make Smashball in HALO 5 since they removed the bug which erased the Golf Ball after 15 seconds. Hopefully, there will be a Golf Ball in Halo 5. I believe kill volumes are baked in like lighting, so not likely but i could be wrong. The devs were surprised (and didn't believe me at first) when i mentioned i had turned Kill Volumes off and on by setting them as goals in that weird Halo 4 game type (forget what it was called but it was used for Hockey).
Yeah I tweeted Tom French after the livestream the other day and he said they will still try to work on it but it bugged out really bad in early builds of forge.
I certainly hope we can do ball scoring when forge drops. Would be disappointed if we couldn't have the rounds reset when a goal is scored.
I am currently planning a FFA specific map pack for H5. I have noticed that not many people design maps for FFA...which I find odd. It also results in having maps that aren't suited for FFA being on matchmaking. I want to change that. I really hope we get KOTH and oddball sometime soon. FFA deserves some objective too. I also want to make 3s a thing. I have always been interested in what 3v3 game-types would be like in Halo.
Chunk those maps are sexy. When did you become such a beast? I'm gonna need you to not have that fusion cool on the map, though. It's like giving a map AIDS.
