I think goat meant the actual status bars on the screen, like in another update 343 is going to raise the limits on the bars so we can have more lighting & objects on the map. It's obvious he didn't mean his next map will raise the bar since he doesn't finish maps. Duh guys, cmon.
The dream for Forge would be a BSP editor where you can just drag the edges of pieces to any size ala Reflex and UE4, and then give us most(if not all) of the modular pieces devs use to create their own maps.
Pieces turned invisible for me when there were too many complex grouped objects and I hit a certain "unknown piece cap" of 1400 pieces. My groups also were scripted to move and eventually when I touched other pieces they would disappear. Simply decreasing piece count or decreasing whats in each group fixed it for me.
Well yes, this is what I'm saying, but lets not forget being able to choose, create, or import textures. How about true terrain editing, the ability to either import or create our own objects with full scaling, and hey - what about water and other non solid volumes. I'm not done yet, how about what we could do with full control of our light and sound engines. Ect, ect. This is why I'm saying we need a full fledged editor, because the only limitation should be our imagination. A BSP editor at the very least requires a rudimentary texture editor, and I would argue that those two things are less the dream and more a minimum requirement. tl;dr You dream to small
Imagine if everyone made dev tier maps with a full-fledged map editor. Knowing 343 there would be like 43 community maps in the Slayer playlist reguardless of how they played.
I would much prefer the community playlists led the charge. Let 343 focus on maps that push their agenda, while the community builds fun, creative, imperfect maps. Dev maps require a certain amount of polish. They get reiterated upon a million times with people that think they know everything about gameplay breathing down their necks. Community maps have the freedom of being thought of as "well, it's only a community map," so it can be put into action much faster and is allowed far more creative freedom. Halo is one of the few active map creating communities where the maps look notably worse than the dev maps. If you look at any active community with access to the full editor, the maps there usually give the devs a run for their money.
You mean there be zero maps in the community playlist cuz 343i doesn't like free community content that outshines there crap.
Is there a 4v4 forge community playlist yet? If not, can someone explain to me why the **** this still isn't here? So many maps out there. Instead of all these mini-games and stupid playlists and what not.
343 can't be arsed to take the time to make sure the maps aren't broken or even if they're up to their stupid standards. It's sad really, because their maps are ****.
Standards? **** that. After 18 ****ing months! You can easily push 6 new maps a month in a playlist that changes and the're will be some bad apples, sure. But It's supposed to be a fun playlist, where all kind of maps just get a month of exposure. That's it.
I can't tell of this is trolling, an attempt of humor or just plain serious lol I have not in any way thought this through but there should be plenty of ways to make this work. The point is that this playlist should be up and running. About 12 months ago.
So.... The sunlight on Tidal Clear is coming from A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIRECTION than where the physical sun is. 343
I'm pretty sure he was just taking a shot at 343, for not doing something that should be common sense.
