So you're basing a game off of microtransactions instead of the actual game? A pretty close-minded opinion, which actually got likes, sad. gg
To be fair a lot of the time in these games they design certain aspects to encourage you to buy said items and they can often be detrimental. Ex. Req packs are encouraged to be bought through systems such as aesthetics and Warzone weapons. By trying to adjust for the reqs The microstransactions in this example makes the mode warzone worse.
Please tell me you're joking. When the actual game is designed around micro-transactions, said game is trash. This isn't cosmetic additions, it's competitive advantages. Any game with that type of pay-model is worthless in my eyes.
I agree in regards of Halo 5. In For Honor however you don't buy actual stuff, which would increase the chances of winning. You can buy an in-game money called Steel. By playing the game normally and completing daily, weekly and community orders you earn Steel. With Steel you can mostly buy cosmetics. You can also "Scavange the Battlefield", which gets you a certain amount of gear for your character. The maximum amount of gear points a character can have is 108. Now, the thing with "pay to win": It's not possible as you're not able to buy said maximum gear at the start. You have to level up your character in order to get better gear, which is good, since then it's a smooth evolution of your character as you play the game. Furthermore gear stats don't make too much of a difference in For Honor and only count in 4v4 gamemodes. 1v1 and 2v2 is played without gear. Overally, this means a more skilled player can always win against a less skilled player with better gear. What Xamplez said was simply an exaggeration, which is not ok considering he only played it once. I can't believe that opinion. It seems odd using neglectable and avoidable micro transactions of such a game as the primary reason against it... I don't know. There had to be other reasons of why he quit the game after playing it once. --- Double Post Merged, Apr 7, 2017 --- Opinion, which is based on a single day of experience. "Competitive advantages" If you played For Honor more you would know, you're making yourself look pretty silly right here.
Yes, with only one day of experience. Because the pay-to-win made me not want to play it again. I used to play mobile games all the time before these types of micro-transactions ruined the App Store. "You don't have to pay, you can get it over time." Yes, "over time", meaning grind. That is still pay to win. People who are stupid with their money undoubtedly have an advantage over those who don't. Trash. I don't care if there's modes that steel doesn't affect, especially considering the ones I preferred do. It shouldn't be in the game. If they cared about creating an enjoyable, balanced experience, it wouldn't be.
"modes that steel doesn't affect" :'D Uhm, gamemodes are not affected by Steel. You don't know what you're talking about at all it seems like. I don't think you read my paragraph carefully enough to understand how microtransactions affect For Honor and how For Honor in general plays. I'm done here, it wouldn't have hurt your credibility if you actually gave proper reasons against the game like performance or match stability. This discussion is senseless, you're simply uninformed. Get back to me in private chat, when you learned your lessons. If not, so be it.
Steel gets you boxes you open for a chance to get anything from gear to abilities. The more you spend, the greater your chances of getting those functional upgrades are. There are two out of four modes where the upgrades acquired through steel affect the gameplay. Steel affects the gameplay. You know exactly what I meant. You know when people pick apart word usage like you did, it means they have a weak defense. There were other problems, but they weren't what kept me from returning. Sorry my opinion has offended you so much.
I have some playable maps! Time to spam them everywhere. Map #1: Crab Grab (I **** you not, I got the name by using the first 2 words I got from a random word generator). It's a 4v4 map that's setup to play CTF and Slayer. Primary pickups are Rockets, Overshield, and Sniper Map #2: Winsome Melody 2v2 Slayer. Primary pickups are Sniper, Damage Boost, and Speed Boost. Map #3: Eventide 2v2 Slayer. Primary pickups are Sniper, Damage Boost, and Speed Boost. The lighting and art are all ****, and I don't care. I'm putting these out there solely for gameplay testing at this point. I pretty much dislike every weapon variant in H5, but I caved and decided the maps needed some other weapons on them, so I pretty much just added them randomly. I literally have no idea what's on them aside from the primary pickups I listed, and a Brute Plasma Rifle I see in the screenshot for Winsome Melody (that was probably a bad idea to put on there, lol). Let me know which ones suck the most and I'll try to replace them with slightly less sucky ones. I actually have a rebuilt version of The Gallows done too, but it's not playable yet. Since I'm pretty confident in how this one will play, I'm gonna play around with the art a little bit before I make it playable. The file is visible if anyone really has an itch to see it.
I'm personally a fan of putting the REQ variants of the Boltshot on my maps. I find it to be an interesting addition to the basic weapon sandbox everyone uses. Can't underrate the Grenade Launcher either. Best power weapon in Halo 5 IMO.
