I could have sworn the exterm contest was broken down into percentages. Looking at it again, i was clearly wrong. But I did not misunderstand your system which was "Originality: Layout, Theme, Design - 25% 5 - Strongly Agree 4 - Agree 3 - Indifferent 2 - Disagree 1 - Strongly Disagree Gameplay: Spawns, Weapons, Balance: 25% 5 - Strongly Agree 4 - Agree 3 - Indifferent 2 - Disagree 1 - Strongly Disagree Presentation: Lighting, Art, Aesthetics, Colors- 25% 5 - Strongly Agree 4 - Agree 3 - Indifferent 2 - Disagree 1 - Strongly Disagree Performance: Framerate, Boundaries - 25% 5 - Strongly Agree 4 - Agree 3 - Indifferent 2 - Disagree 1 - Strongly Disagree To prove it, here is my map Spellbound. Originality - 5 /25% Gameplay - 4 /20% Presentation - 3 /15% Performance - 3 /15% So the map gets 75%, or 7.5/10. If the scores varied wildly, an average of all four would be the tiebreaker." also, regarding spellbound... are you referencing the circular 4v4 map that you made over a year ago. Or did you make another map called spellbound?
Why would I make another map with the same name? I'm moving this discussion to another thread BTW so i'll respond there. Here, let's move this contest discussion to this thread since it has developed further. https://www.forgehub.com/threads/discussion-on-contest-judging.155875/
From time to time over the years, I've heard this sentiment repeated in the forge community: "The maps won't be fun if the game isn't fun". I agree with that. As much as I do see some really nice designs made in Halo 5 Forge, none of them were enough for me to want to get back on the game. The 100 gigs eventually became too much space for me to have for something I never played, so I uninstalled it. So, I guess I agree with Chunk on that. Luckily I have Overwatch. I never thought we'd get a real class based shooter on console, but we finally have. There are talks of an editor coming in the not-so-near future. https://www.kotaku.com.au/2017/03/overwatch-map-editor-on-blizzards-long-term-road-map/
Nah I'm not going to use that thread. I don't know why you'd make another map with the same name but I remember seeing a map of yours that had the same art style as spellbound but had a completely different layout and looked like it was for 2v2. It's not unreasonable for someone who isn't in your circle jerk clique to then assume that you scrapped the 4v4 map and used the name for the 2v2 map. .... Who was making that portal map? Post some pictures of that!
Spellbound was released 8 months ago and is no longer on the site, so if you aren't familiar with it and don't want to do a simple search, that's fine. It's not relevant to the discussion. But if you don't want to continue the discussion after I just told you that you were wrong, then whatever. The thread is there for those who do.
I admitted my mistake but my point about your system still holds. Get off your high horse. Where did I say I wasn't willing to keep this conversation going? I just said I won't be using that thread, I'm more than willing to continue the discussion here. I merely asked you a question about your map with clear reasoning behind my question. But if you're that sensitive about it then forget it.
Are you intentionally being difficult? Several members have asked us to keep the discussion out of this thread, and the thread explicitly states that topics that develop to a certain point should be spun off into new threads. And I don't care about the map but you just as easily could have searched the website for it. It literally takes 5 seconds.
It took less than 5 seconds to ask the question and would have taken just as long to answer it. But instead you want me to search the website for a map that you yourself stated has been removed from the website??
That is true. I could have avoided this unnecessary tangent if I had taken your question at face value, but I am used to you giving a snark response to my anti 343 posts and viewed your question under that lens.
Actually **** you Xandrith for posting that video of Genesis FROM DECEMBER 2015. I called the map Spellbound in there before I changed the layout. Bodey must have thought that was recent.
Its been over a year but I finally did it, released a map today. Its called NEMESIS and supports 4 - 8 players. Originally designed for Extermination but plays traditional 2v2 and 4v4 as well. Visit Map Page
I never gave that one a chance. APK was the only person that I remember talking about it. I'm going to watch some gameplay of it.
