Chroma boxing is making a giant cube around your map with chromas to block the sun on an enclosed map. You can then turn light bake off of every object in your map and you'll get very consistently dark lighting that is very customizable.
That is super useful to know, I assume it means that your manual lighting is more important than ever though? I might have to give it a go on a map I'm working on. ......Hey look at that segway! Still suffering from some forgers block, so i've decided to try and swap out aesthetic-lead forging with super-functional forging, and it's been a runaway success. I've basically made an Empire/Midship clone blockout that'll hopefully support 4v4. I haven't really got down and dirty with core map spawning, so i'm going to use this as a learning opportunity. And then i'm going to hide the thing in Chroma
So problem fixed. I was building on the underside of Glacier, but the lightbake off lighting was retarded. I just got through shifting the whole map to parallax and it looks a lot better, not quite the same, but a lot better. I should be able to build no problem now.
You must have that ***** saved in various prefabs right? Hope your not doing it by hand cuz that shot ain't worth it lol
Yeaaaaahh bbboiiiiii. Haha no way would I rebuild it. I stacked 10 8x8x8 simple blocks, prefabbed them to sections of the map then named them 1-10 descending down the stack. When I drag them onto another map, I just stack the 8x8x8s in the right order.
Wouldn't 256x256 black floor pieces accomplish the same thing with less peices or do chromas have some secret power.(less intensive?)
