Besides architecture, 343 art style lacks the atmosphere. And not only in the gameplay itself, but also in the cutscenes. Take this scene on Reach for example and compare it to the space scenes of Halo 4 or 5. Needless to say that the music plays a big part too
I actually really liked how Reach's multiplayer maps were in Campaign. I guess it limits options for map themes, but it was cool to come across the maps in Campaign. Also, I'm pretty sure I remember the first time they released this image (or an image of this area).
I liked that too, even though many of them weren't all that great. They can always ship different map themes in DLC
Didn't want to double post, but now I must post the Metapod Who the hell thought this was a good idea? I am absolutely speechless every time I see it. Anyways, Two Betrayals is my favourite mission in any Halo speaking of atmosphere. And it has also my favourite moment in any campaign. CE still has much to teach.
"And the mantle passes; reach with what little hope remains burning inside" I'll leave the before image unthumbnailed for cleanliness, but here's where it stands right now: Comparison Red base Blue base Middle Area Bottom Not pictured: floating rocks below red base lead under tower from bottom mid, vines under mid room that can be climbed from red or blue cave (bugs, bugs, bugs!), camo and speed boost are "hidden" in the river of light to annoy people, top mid only has two soft routes leading up to it and can be outplayed by holding either base.
Sneak preview. Almost done with my third and final Hammerfall grifballcourt. This map is set in Columbia from Bioshock Infinite.
Hello Everyone! So, this is me first post on ForgeHub, and I wanted to share the map I was making for the Hammerfall Grifball contest. So allow me to introduce: Starside Spoiler: Then... Spoiler: ...And Now.
My favorite campaign mission in terms of atmosphere has got to be Delta Halo/Regret (It's 2 but might as well be 1) Closely followed by The Ark and Silent Cartographer. Metropolis is nice too. If I had to pick a 343 mission I'd say Reunion from h5
Apparently we're doing favorite campaign missions now. I can't get over how damn good Requiem looks. http://imgur.com/a/nXD38 http://imgur.com/a/wsvho
I decided to add more, I might be able to pull off a 1v1/2v2 map with it. Lightmap is kicking my butt though.
