Sorry, i thought you were referring to the time someone on here called me out for only making 'boring boxes' and i whipped that Grifball court out to prove them wrong. Just waiting for the right inspiration, and a substantial window of time, to make a core 4v4 map. Maybe after the Grifball contest (and the other thing i'm working on) has ended.
So I'm trying to get an object to play a sound effect when I enter its boundary and I'm having no luck. I went into the object's properties and gave it a boundary, and then I added a script with "boundary check" and "play sound" actions to it. This seems to work for some other things that I have seen, but it's not working for me. Anyone know how to do it?
Don't add a boundary to the object. Simply put a scripting brain and make that the boundary. If a player enters it, you tell the scripting brain to send a message to the sound object. If the sound object receives that message, you tell it to spawn. You can of course despawn it, when a player exits the boundary.
I'm actually not using a sound object. I'm trying to play one of the sounds from scripting like the piano notes.
Hey those column ramp geomerges look pretty clean! Unless this was post ghost merging. In that case, you suck
Scripted sounds don't play in the world, they only play to specified targets. You have to modify the "PLAYERS" menu under the Sound action. "Players [add]" will make it so that everyone will hear the sound.
Nope. That was a (20 minute late) entry for the 7 on the 7th playlist which predates ghost merging. All 16-20 blocks on the base platform level (1:25 to 1:35 in the video) were merged into the map wall so each required extensive bracing and block spawn shoving with a second controller outside the map. Each of those blocks took 1 to 2 hours to place. After that the Column ramps were easy since Column pieces were the best behaved items in the inventory when it came to geomerges.
