Why are you all so butt hurt all the time? You all should learn from me: don't give a damn about anything. I'm glad I normally stand by and watch the chaos and not engulf myself in it.
If there is interest and others will donate to the pot, im considering putting $100 down for a 1v1 map comp. Halo 5 is a wasteland for 1v1 maps. Is there interest in this from the good forgers here? I dont want to end up with only 20 noob maps. Dont take this as my word that i will, but im really getting comfortable with the idea. I also really want to 1v1 you guys about how **** waywo has been lately. SELLING JUDGE POSITIONS $100 A POP!!
Haven't forged since the release of H5 (did so in Reach, not so much for H4, H2A). After seeing the last update started working on the following. A remake/re-imagination from another game, not spoiling anything. If you do by some miracle recognize it, +1 to you. Main chamber/antechamber; Another angle; Top-down goodness. Made some progress since I took these shot. This iteration of forge is a great improvement over the last couple of ones, but the lightmap really borks certain pieces (turning them black, etc.).
Salty's Sangheli map feels like it could be part of a Campaign mission. You could enter the area from the Beam Rifle spawn and shoot a field of Jackals, and then Hunters turn around and force you to either retreat into the cave or claim the high ground, where you shoot Fuel Rod Grunts and then grab them and shoot the Hunters from above. Then you have the perfect view for a Phantom to fly into the space and drop off waves of Jackal Snipers and then Camo Elites. You're supposed to then go to the cave, kill the grunts and then go behind the waterfall to assassinate the Elites, but if you stay on the Balcony, they'll come up behind you and **** up your life. It's different, it's fun and it reminds me a lot of some of the playspaces from older Halo games.
I almost missed that last sentence, lol. I would love to commit to submitting something, but unless the contest runs for 3 or 4 months the chances of me completing something in time are pretty slim.
Not related to anything of a contest, but I have been working on something scaled for 1v1/faster 2v2s. It's not much more than a grey box right now, but it's playable. I used it as a test bed for my scripted powerup indicators(marker disappears 10 seconds after spawning, no matter what).
