For those who are interested, here it is a walkthrough of my map http://xboxclips.com/SupremeDavide/6e11eb5b-61f9-452a-a697-58f30dd481d1
That's an extremely beautiful map but that is probably the most basic layout ever, even for a 1v1. It's a circle. Please tell me you have more plans for that.
Thanks man, too kind! It's awesome, fighting with the monk chant in the background must be cool as hell Thank you! Sadly I had to give my original layout up to mantain that level of detail. At least I'm almost sure it will play well
New 4v4 WIP with layout and art inspired by Battlefield 3's "Operation 925" Currently I'm at 954 Pieces and the map is geometricly ready to go with a nice pliminary art layer. I have lighting, coloring and texturing to focus on next while brining in some more props. Hoping to be sitting at around 1200 pieces before I add spawns, volumes and name locations.
That looks great Salty. I'm going to be one of those guys that posts about what he's working on without showing pics. I've completed another blockout. It's a 2v2 (I think?) map which was largely inspired by Exhibit. You'll notice some structural similarities. The overall layout though is very different. I'm posting about it here mostly as incentive for myself to either take screenshots, or do a walkthrough video. If you don't want to wait for those, you can download the map yourself and take a look around. In case this link doesn't work, you can find it in my files with the name Winsome Melody. I've also started work on a remix of a map I made in Halo 4 called Spaz. I've never quite been satisfied with how that map turned out, but I really liked the core concept. Hopefully I can get it right this time... Too early for pics of that just yet, but it's in my files also if anyone really wants to see it at about 10% complete. For some reason I have a strange urge to build a Midship map. Haven't felt that in a LONG time... I'm kind of curious to see how something like that would play in this game if it were designed to really punish the overuse of Spartan Abilities. Truth can kind of do that with the jump from the base to top mid, but the scaling throughout the rest of the map almost necessitates the use of Spartan Abilities. If the urge is still there after I finish building Spaz, I may take one for the team and run that little experiment.
Just testing the waters here, would anyone be interested in an "adopt a map" thread? The idea being that you can post unfinished maps that you've abandoned for other people to use.
I was planning to make a thread of just my own maps at some point, since I don't plan on finishing most of them, lol. But yeah, I'd be interested in using it to post my unfinished maps. I think the bigger question is does anyone actually want to adopt maps. I think there are some people that may be interested in doing that, but there would definitely be more unfinished maps than there would be adopters.
Here's a screenshot and walkthrough of Winsome Melody. As I mentioned earlier, and should be obvious from the video, this map is in the blockout phase. I'm willing to put it up for adoption if anyone is interested in doing art for it. Sorry about the flickering lighting in the video. I haven't spent enough time on lighting to make it presentable, so the walkthrough was done in forge without lights baked.
I love when forgers have blatantly obvious biases towards their friends... Sorry dude, love Kurismic, but a good many of his maps have not been great.
I believe it is this, https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/...ng&sortOrder=Created&page=3&gamertag=Kurismic Not 100% sure though lol His first map was about equal to Raven's Lair..? His second map was really interesting. Never really polished it up though.
