What Are You Working On?

aint nobody with enough brains gonna pay you to help with their map. and before you get pissed. its a blanket statement across anyone wanting to make money off people to work on their projects

 

If you aren't interested then it's not for you. I'm not asking for your opinion

I'm not pissed I just can't afford to spend time doing art commissions for free.

If nobody is interested then that's fine.

 

You obviously need to pay so you can further your career in forge so you can get a promotion and make more........Wait that's right. I personally don't understand why anyone would pay for something that gets nothing but attention in return, but hey if you can make money off of it why not right? I don't blame the dude.

I feel ya on that dude but a community that complains about the free stuff they get is probably the wrong place to market your skills.

 

It's not a **** move. I'm not asking you to pay me to test your map or go on there and help you think of cool distance fog settings. I am asking if anyone is interested in concept art of their design. I'm providing a trade, not a community service.

I'll post some higher quality stuff this week to show my more professional work and maybe that'll change your mind. But don't tell me how to run my own show.

 

I disagree, its not like he is forcing you, its like any service. I personally think it wouldn't be worth it, but like any product or service ever made....Don't like it, don't buy it. Nothing wrong at all with what he is doing, he obviously doesn't intend on scamming anyone.

 

That would be tantamount to career suicide.

 

Can we please bring this thread to, you know showing creations and progress. Here lets get on topic again, I think this will be quite a fun border patrol minigame. Still baffled as to what gametype to do though......Obviously not done yet

I honestly have no problem doing it for free as a service. I've already done concept art for several people's maps without them knowing. I dislike asking for money believe it or not but I have some things to take care of and I may as well make use of what I'm good at in the mean time. Use it or lose it.

I think i missread the original post then, you make concept work of others maps, they in return pay you to sketch up a project and then you give them the art to make themselves? if thats the case thats not a bad idea. I was assuming you were going in and restructuring the maps as a service, which would be a whole different story

 

Oh, i suppose that is an honest misinterpretation then, my apologies. Perhaps I didn't make my intention clear so I can see why anyone would be against that. But no I'm not a shady ****. I just think it'd be cool to have an "in house concept artist" for all of ForgeHub. Helps me get better at it, looks good on a resume, helps people visualize their designs, etc.

I'll post more details in a separate thread later in the week. I'm just throwing the idea out there now.
