Now I see,let me hop in as soon as I get home. Understanding this concept can help me as a forger plus I might be able to help
/me shakes goat again, sometimes its good enough, static images are not the same as running through first person virtual geometry so its ok, we see the sight line ahead, and QUIT GIVING AWAY YOUR PROCESS! Edit: smacking :dunco: off his lounge chair again
@A 3 Legged Goat I'm curious: So with "negative space manipulation" you're essentially illuminating the routes by making the doors bright and their surroundings dark. What happens if the areas on both sides of a doorway are roughly the same brightness? In that case you couldn't make the doorway stand out; what would you do?
all you're trying to do is make sure that there are areas of different value in your view at any given moment, and that they are spread out and balanced across your screen so that you aren't looking at a giant blob of one color or texture. It would be a lot easier to do if we could use grass texture on the rocks of some kind.
I have been working on a sanghelios themed blood gulch map. I'm not making the structures and pathing the same as the original blood gulch. It's the same size and concept of course. I am trying to make it look like the UNSC is attacking sanghelios! So I tried to make the UNSC base look a lot like a war zone base that dropped onto sanghelios! But here are some pictures of current progress.
Keep an eye out for a kid named "walker5live" he's going around taking our maps and changing stuff on them and then trying to take credit for them.
I'll message him and see if he wants me to give him one of my unannounced projects or create him a new one.
He added me after forge labs featured my map and started taking screenshots of him editing my map. So I got a hold of him and asked what he thought was wrong with it and to get his opinions on it. The little squeaker told me my maps were **** and that he was making them better. Checked his files and he has many of my maps and a lot of other well known maps that he's edited and put different names on them. And he's trying to take credit for them as his own... --- Double Post Merged, Jul 19, 2016 --- Not sure if that bugs anyone else but it bugs the **** out of me. I know we have others who edit our maps all the time but barely any of them try to sell it off as if the map is theirs. They just edit it and play it with their friends or by themselves. But when others try to take credit for all the work WE put it...just bugs me..
I think it shows poor character but I don't mind. I just like to help people out, so if someone stole my design. I would just ask if they wanted help, if they thought it was ****, then that's their opinion and I would have definitely said yes if they asked to take it and alter it. I'm not worried about credit. I'd rather just make people happy. But I do understand the frustration. --- Double Post Merged, Jul 19, 2016 --- I messaged him telling him people are fond of that kind of attitude and that it's not going to gain him a good reputation. Then offered to help him if he needs it. He doesn't want help. I guess editing other creations is just his thing. All I can say is for media to be aware and keep his name in mind so that credit can be given to the original as well, in the case that anything catches their attention.
I tried that, and I have others do that. I don't mind seeing and hearing other people's ideas. I invited him to a party and asked if there was something he wanted changed or if he had a new/different idea. Was excited to see if someone had an idea for something else. Little squeaker said it was sh*t and that he was making it better and that I've never made a good map. I politely let him know that the video had seen by thousands on YouTube and have bookmarked it so if we make changes then it can be on the original instead of a different named version people won't know about...kid said about as many cuss words as he could and then blocked me hahaha I tried
