I currently have three open projects... Eratiana (Forge Island) Guardian's Reflection (Erosion) Serenity (Ravine) Image of Serenity (WIP)
Fauch, will that be a Infection map? Maybe make some more pictures, you don't have gold I assume. And Zandril, good luck, don't spend to much . Choot em, Serenity sure is one of the prettiest maps I have seen in that area, if not the prettiest. I'm interested in the others, especially Guardian's Reflection, just judging by the name. I am working on what might become the longest Linear Infection map, at least of Halo 4 that is, It might feature a vehicle, a vehicle who beats everything.. And it won't be made by using all the walls for wall coliseums . Also making a map sketch for a Infection house map on Forge Island, hoping to work on the Linear Infection map today and sketch a little further.
I think there must be something wrong with me. I look at that pic and the first thing I see is that either the ramps going into the bases are at different angles, or the bases are at different heights. It's not a big deal if it's just a minor difference in angles, but if the bases are at different heights then it's definitely something you should address. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Serenity and the other two projects. You should post preview threads for each of them so people can leave you some feedback.
Thanks for the compliments! The height difference is an optical illusion based off of the camera angle, lmao. Both the height and depth are precisely the same on each object, made sure the coordinates matched while forging. Will look into a few preview threads. Thanks!
That looks pretty damn good, Choot. You're a brave soul for building on the Forerunner structure of Ravine. I hope to play this map soon. You're on my friends list, right? Invite sometime?
I have gold. what makes it look like an infection map? I usually don't really care for those kinds of game modes.
It's not an optical illusion. Look at where the blocks you've used as ramps meet the forerunner flooring. On the left side the edge of the block seems to meet up perfectly, while on the right side the blocks are merged into the floor. It's probably a 1 or 2 degree difference in the angle of those blocks. Like I said, though, it's not really a big deal. It's just one of those nitpicky things that I obsess over when I build my own maps. Looking forward to those preview threads.
yeah, the base on the right seems a bit rushed, there is also what looks like a coliseum wall going all the way through a 2x4 block. I guess I'm quite obsessed about that too lol
Okay, so this is my situation right now. I got some really cool aesthetics that I've used for some new maps. Problem is they are average mapdesigns and I don't take average anymore, I want great. So are there any great 4v4 reach designs out there that are worth remaking? Ofcourse with approval of the original forger. I've thought about asking Solo if I could remake his Oversoul or even Retroactive of Keller (as I was his first kind of apprentice in the beginning of H4 when I built Acolyte) as both are amazing mapdesigns that haven't seen the light in halo 4 yet, which is a damn shame imo. Thoughts?
Now I see what you're referring to, lol. Will double-check next session. Thanks! Now this one I did notice once the screenshot was taken and planned on going back to it. As stated it is a work in progress but thanks for the observation!
Working on an Conversion map in Erosion. The layout, spawns, weapons and vehicles are down on the ground. Now I need to test it properly. Send me a PM if you want to see it
And I just got my internet set up at my new flat! Picking up a couch hopefully today, and later this week a desk and chair to wrap up furnishing the place. Thursday trucking all my stuff over from a friends and finishing my move. Then Friday.... dun dun dun.... Housewarming party! And yeah, I'm probably not coming back to Halo any time soon. I'll just be around on the forums.
I just started working on a 4 way symmetrical. It's similar to desolation/derelict but has improved design to allow better use of top middle and the bottom floor. It's almost exact to the design so far. I'm hoping 4v4 and ffa gameplay play best on it.
Working right now on a Stadium-Themed map with Ricochet in mind. The first Version should be finished soon, but i could need some advice. What do you think ?
I'm gonna start making a Ricochet map tonight and hopefully get it completed for oct. 8th and submit it to the 343i contest!
Take 'Em Down map preview #3 #4 I put some green 4x4 blocks to show you were hill/extr points will be. As you can see near every hill there's a "tower" (the ramps buildings) that must be controlled if you want to maintain the hill / extr point. On this map the control of power positions is a MUST in order to win.
