how the **** does anyone build block maps? magnets don't work half the time and as soon as you stop using magnets your objects don't line up move a group and all your objects are shifted pieces randomly turn black if you aren't hussling with those you're combing through the list to find blocks that don't have random lines on them. but sometimes you want the random lines and there isn't a piece with the lines you want in the size you need. this is exhausting.
I've only had issues with magnets if there were a ton of items in a small space. It'll just make the system turn off. Respawning the item sometimes works.
Welcome to my hell. What's worse is the light mapping. Primitives which should be out least costly pieces in all categories perform the worst for light map. Many larger blocks take up .7% light map a piece. That's insane. So tiling smaller block can actually be more effienct in many cases. How's that for bass akwards
firstly your lighting is going to change dramatically because the new skybox lighting comes from the west at a shallower angle than exosphere. second, if you're going to make any atmospheric/themeatic changes, i'd sooner see you go snowhalla. and third, now that you have extra pieces, please make that drop off look better. am sure you can throw some more terrain in that direction. hell, if it were me, i'd move the whole map to the corner of parallax so that particular section would get sand.
coordinates are nice until you start moving something that's not built on 90 degrees. coordinate snapping is broken. 4' and 2' have always had issues with not being accurate, but now the precision editing ticker moves too fast.
Haha...sorry for asking you to make a more believable Pelican. At least you did an amazing job! Yes, I knew the Pelican model was coming I just didn't think it was going to be ready soon and we're looking to get BTB maps in for playlists first week of March. We needed something in a short amount of time and building one in forge seemed more readily available PLAYLIST UPDATES: Head up to all we are wrapping up BTB and Grifball maps first week of march. If you are building anything for these please contact me. Shoot me a PM or message me on my profile.
I honestly think h4-h5 forerunner is awful looking compared to h3 forerunner. The structures acually made sense and mimicked natural beauty, but now its just a bunch of shiny floating ****. If I had to choose one it would be h4.
I just walked around on this for a while, and I didn't notice any glaring issues. As for its simplicity, I don't think it will be a problem. 2v2s might be a little fast, but it is very easy to add playspace with this kind of layout. This map, in my opinion, is your strongest layout yet. I would love to see this finished.
