Not sure, I was wanting white at 1st but it wasn't looking white enough so I gave up. Then when I added the lighting I liked the white. I think the gold trim would look sweet but I've just seen it already so I may try shiny silver. I also thought the Boardwalk theme from reach might look nice but I am a little discouraged from testing out bold colors like blue.
Go classic matte black base with metallic grey trim (silver) for the colour scheme. Also perhaps red highlights or something. I don't know.
Finally got Tremont Square, my urban BTB map with a subway, completely ready for testing with lighting and everything hopefully working and done. You guys can check it out in my bookmarks titled "Tremont Square BETA". Assuming I did it correctly, the map should be set up to play Slayer, CTF, and Strongholds.
I'm still working on my urban btb map previously know as "nbcm" which is now known as Nomolos. The name also has a lot to do with the design/theme and that fact that its lore makes it even cooler. But i would like some feedback on the current layout and other feedback. I know it needs a lot of aesthetic work but i think the layout is pretty solid atm. Mad I procrastinated so much earlier this month. So, behind and still messing with my blockout. Hope to have it finished by Friday, but here's what I have so far.
So I tried black with chrome accents, didn't look as good as one would think. Definitely going to stick with the white primary but I still can't decide on accents. I will try the chrome accents on the white but man my instinct wants me to put Gold. Curse you Gold.
For some reason the first thing your map made me think of was the town of Fletz from Legend of the Dragoon. You can do white primary + gold & blue accents. That way you still get your gold and the blue will help set it apart from the other maps.
Somehow, your map instantly reminded me of the elvish architecture in World of Warcraft. The Blood-Elves have these Red/Gold/White Color-Scheme, while the Night-Elves use Blue/Purple/Grey. That could fit quite nicely.
hey quit copying my suggestions. with an actual explanation. if you use walnut set it all the way to matte. White works those two colors as well. I don't know how much contrast you are looking for though.
@no god anywhere Feedback for Prism LIKE: General triangle theme Damage boost platform Death pit ramp in front of bases with view of bridge DISLIKE: Sniper spawning in a pocket BR is too close to sniper spawn Hallway behind the base is boring 90° Corners. Teleporter room in particular has too many of them. Some triangular walls/railings are disorienting because of the 90° connections. Not a fan of the trench between Sniper and teleporter. The small transition between the two sides is what bothers me in particular. Stronghold right by a teleporter. It's not so much the position as it is the size of that area being too small. You'd be backing up while getting shot and then *poof* you're on the other side of the map. There's some interesting pathing going on, but half of the map feels too claustrophobic at this point. I'm generally not keen on box style maps because making the tops of the walls look interesting is annoying. I'm curious to see how you're going to do it. At least we have pieces to do it in this game.
Working on a remake of Outcast from H4. I don't plan on making it a 1:1 remake, I might even completely redesign a few areas depending on how well it works in H5.
@Zombievillan I would use like a dark red or maroon as your secondary, with maybe a silver highlight to some things. Then I would make the flooring just barely a shade darker than the bright white, so like 10% grey.
I'm working on trying to find issues with my 2v2 map: http://www.forgehub.com/threads/wip-tetrad.150451/ I feel like the lower rooms(shown in picture) might not be suitable, and give the top too much of an advantage when coming from there.
Why are my sweet croma pieces fine in Forge, but drastically shifted/moved in custom games? Any thoughts? They are all on 'phased'.
