It's an update of a map I forged on Halo 4, I've forged a giant tree in a forerunner tower. This time I changed a little bit the inside of the structure and at my eyes the tree fits well with the "tree symbol", I think that without it, it's too empty.
Well for me it was just fun to play with some buddies, jumping into search, sticks/stones or gun game was awesome
Search and destroy is literally ten fold better than anything else in cod. Why they haven't learned to build around it is a mystery
The tree looks really out of place, don't look at empty space as a bad thing all the time, it would draw more attention to the cool floor you made, plus fights would be awkward as hell with that strange tree, not only does it get in the way, but people could just jump onto the stump and hide and get easy kills on people running through the hallway.
Of course it's not always a bad thing but the hallway is too long to don't put something in the middle, I precise that the tree is not high enough, it will be higher at the end, It's more for the exterior of the tower that I puted it here
oh man NFSU2 I still play that **** every year for like a week straight ~~~~~~riders on the storm....~~~~~~~ But does anyone else feel empty when they play a new game, like they're just a cog in a corporate system? I'm thinking a little bit of the scene from Metropolis where the big machine turns into Moloch and sacrifices the workers to itself to make it work again - is there not some truth to this image, even now, only that it is us, the faithful consumers, ever hopeful that something new will save us from our boredom sacrificing ourselves somewhat passively to the open maw of such cultural arbitrators like EA, BioWare, 343, and Ubisoft? I want to make something, I don't want to consume anymore that said... my new map is making me scream - I like the idea, I like the layout, I like the angles, I like the pace of gameplay.. but there are so many small details that I just can't get right no matter how much adjusting I do. I'd like some help, if anyone wants to pitch in
I really have the say that the Switch is a breath of fresh air. The games I have all are genuinely fun and I don't really get tired of playing them too quickly. I've got Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, and Overcooked as a cool coop game and I really feel like I'm gaming when I'm playing them, rather than just grinding for points or exp or what have you.
There's nothing as good as realizing an idea for a 3d space, and that's not even accounting for the satisfaction of playing it
The Switch... yes, it is a breath of fresh air, in some ways - but that air has also been recycled and refiltered time and time again, and bottled up in the Nintendo dungeons for ages.. as much as I like breath of the wild, I am still grappling with the mechanics of it, and the ways in which it is quite grind-y. The freedom it gives you is somewhat illusory, like... take the cooking, for example - you can throw whatever the **** you want into a cooking pot, and not even pay attention, and still get the **** you need to beat a boss - it gives you so many ways to basically do the exact same thing, in the end. Really reminds me of super Mario Sunshine in that way, or other JRPGs. Remember, as well - the Switch is a 'current-gen' console, and is therefore at its core a 'safe' product, made by probably the 'safest' videogame company out there. Not to mention the casino feel I get from playing it, where every button press has some 'weight' to it, like I am accomplishing something even if nothing really important is taking place. If you combine that with the pied-piper musical cues (**dat dah dah dah, dah dah DAtdadahhh**)... beyond the beautiful landscapes, coloring, and concepts... it's really just another re-telling of the exact same story, and the player is chasing the exact same high. The same game, year after year, with a fresh coat (or 100) of paint. Every franchise is doing this, because that's what gets the $$. But what happens when the $$ don't come anymore? When genre amalgams like Destiny, or legacy traitors like Halo stop raking in the big daddy corporate 'nerd' parasite buckaroos? What happens when lootcrates are realized to be what they are, real-life RNGesus Req Packs for the 'nerd' with some (I stress the some in some, as I stress the nerd in 'nerd') where nothing of real value is being transferred? What happens when the tuberculosis of our souls finally manifests? What happens if I stop whispering into the ether that is WAYWO? What if none of us can wake up? What if Forgehub is purgatory? What if 343 Guilty Spark is Virgil, and Master Chief is Dante? What if I'm going mad?
The Last of Us should have just been a TV show because as a game I feel like I can press random buttons and still make it through the endless quick time events and 1 dimensional combat, which itself wouldn't be bad if it wasn't the most linear game i've ever played.
I guess I'm a bit biased because the Switch is the first Nintendo console I've owned since the GameCube. I've played multiplayer games on the Wii and Wii U, but never had time to sit down and play a single player Nintendo game probably since Super Mario Sunshine. Breath of the Wild is also only my second Zelda game I've ever really put any time too (crucify me now, I know). So that may factor in to how fresh everything feels to me.
I haven't. Don't get me wrong, it's really well made and being able to walk around the environment lets you appreciate how much work went into making it feel realistic. It's just the time you're reminded you're actually playing it that makes you wish it was VR or something instead of a really long quick time event.
Freshness is certainly a factor for me too. I actually had never spent any real time with Zelda games before BoTW, and I admire the variety of gameplay feel, art style, and tone they can achieve with the same simple cast of characters and motivations - I had given up on Nintendo after the Wii I had waited a year for died an hour into playing excite truck and Wii Sports bowling. It is definitely a pocket of fresh air, I think. you can always report me for low quality
Overcooked!! Me and my wife play that together and get in rl fights, it's awesome! Whenever she screws up i spray her with the fire hydrant XD
