Haha, you guys are crazy. It's just one structure, I have no idea how to keep the theme going through the rest of the planned layout, which is already changing from my initial sketches. Also, I wish white actually was white on the blocks & such.
You could continue to introduce players into the space at 45 degree angles at different elevations to continue the theme.
A little bit of an update of my Adrift remix. I'm just now getting to a bit of scenery so there's still plenty to do.
Man that looks huge in scale, maybe it's just the pics but it just seems massive to me. Also, I'm humbled by the overwhelming responses to my pics. I didn't think it was all that great but some of you are going nuts. I assure you it's not as epic as it seems so don't get too excited because I'm afraid I'll let you down. I've seen far too many awesome creations in such a short time that I feel like I can't keep up with the crowd.
Well I did have to scale it a bit to compensate for Halo 5's movement, but it's relatively small. But I'll have to see what gamemodes and sizes work best for it.
Anyone who is interested in fully functional static weapon spawns without weapon pads and/or is proficient in scripting should take a look at this post.
A map that I originally intended for 4v4, but may now play best in a 6v6 setting. This is mainly just an experiment with forging for me. Before now, I hadn't really thought about map design theory. This is my first real stab at nailing a competitive map. To talk about my original concept, I envisioned a mix between Solace, Haven, and another map whose name evades me. The idea was to balance player travel time with risk and danger, while allowing for smooth transitions between areas. What I made was half of that and half of Countdown from Halo Reach. To talk about some problems that I can foresee, I fear the scaling is much too large for Halo 5, some areas' lines of sight may bleed over, and some areas might be entirely neglected. This is all before play testing, so nothing is permanent, especially the aesthetics and the weapon placement. I haven't settled on a name yet, but right now, it's called TEST.
My 2v2 map is coming along. Happy with the layout, just need to get some testing done to make sure it works ok.
I haven't posted my design, mainly because it's sketch ups drawn on little note pads from my office, lol. I just wanted to throw my little structure out there.
Alright, its playable. I want to give a huge shoutout to Brotastic bear. Not only did he create the zen garden, but he helped out with the entire map immensly. Any name suggestions would be much appreciated.
What is up with the map lighting? You are at 172% but when I reached 130% my shadows & objects in shadows started looking funny.
