We ALL could use some tweaks. My current struggle has been feeling guilty over not being able to help my friend quit drinking. He doesn't want to. He also has to take all these (prescribed) pills for the amount of pain he's in due to the things that he's done whilst drinking this heavily (which you are NOT supposed to mix with booze). I've said my piece and won't even go over to his house anymore (as all he wants to do is drink and 'party'), but I still feel like I'm letting him down.
I'm off to bed dudes, from this point all I can do is 'infuriate' people who can't handle another ones opinon.
I'm pretty infuriated by what's happened to halo. Master Chief is my god, 343 now the devil. Level 146 and i think I'm going to put halo down for a while. I actually never thought I'd ever dislike halo but I seriously dislike what they've done to it. See, if this isn't proof there's no god, what is?
You assume that God lives in the same box of rules we do, and that anything in the Bible needs to be changed to work. These are incorrect assumptions, and we can talk about that more in PM's if you'd like. I understand your underlying logic, but you haven't provided any examples. Something that took me a while to understand and I think a lot of people have yet to realize is that there is more than one kind of truth. We have scientific truth, and religious, acted out truth. We often in our everyday lives act out the truth before we can believe it, and the same process can and should be applied to religion. Again, we can talk more about this in PM's because I'm tired right now.
Here's some proof. I'll list only a few of the 333 precise prophecies of the old testament, all made about Christ, and all of which came true. 1. "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting" (Micah 5:2). This prophecy predicts that the Christ is to be born in Bethlehem. 2. "Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me" (Mal. 3:1). John the Baptist was the forerunner of Christ. 3. "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation: lowly, and riding upon ... a colt the foal of an ass" (Zech. 9:9). Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a colt the foal of an ass. 4. "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends"(Zech. 13:6). Christ was betrayed by Judas, one of His disciples, causing Him to be put to death, wounds being made in His hands. 5. "And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prized at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord" (Zech. 11:13). Judas in remorse tried to return the thirty pieces of silver, but the chief priest would not accept them. So Judas threw them down on the floor of the temple and went and hanged himself. The chief priest then took the money and bought a field of the potter to bury strangers in. 6. "He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth" (Isa. 53:7). One man in how many, after fulfilling the above prophecies, when he is oppressed and afflicted and is on trial for his life, though innocent, will make no defense for himself? According to a statistician and author Peter W. Stoner, the probability that just 8 of the 333 prophecies coming true by chance is a conservative 10 to the 17th power. Only 8. It's all in his book "science speaks" and it's incredible stuff.
Cannot Divide by Zero....This proves the existence of "God" or in other words, infinity. The implications of the non-existence of "absolute nothing", proves the existence of an absolute infinity, or in other words, an uncaused cause. Humans have the tendency to personify "God" and I think it is this personification that turns most " non-believers" away from the absolute truth that existence exists, simply because non-existence cannot. Everyone believes In "God"(Aka Infinity) , wether they acknowledge it or not. If you don't, you believe absolute nothing exists, which by it's very definition, is impossible. Anyone confused yet? Haha
Well yeah, when people say they don't believe in God, they're referring to the characterization of God. Almost all religious disagreements boil down to how something is characterized rather than whether or not it exists. This is most obvious when people that follow different religions engage in discussion. It's less obvious with discussions like those in this thread recently, but it's still the core source of disagreement.
You just had me watching videos for an hour on why we can’t divide by zero and calculators attempting to do so. It was entertaining
Let it go m8y, if you've made it clear to him that you think he is ****ing up and he keeps doing it, that's all you really can do. I had to deal with a similar situation recently, and sometimes you just have to know when to take your hand out of the vortex. Spoiler: only empiricist universalist kids will get this Logically you cannot have an uncaused cause. Dividing 0 by 0 is impossible because you can't divide nothing by *anything*, as there is nothing to divide. The 'absolute infinity' of dividing 0 by 0 exists because you are dividing the absence of something by the absence of something - this is for all intents and purposes equal to 1, where the 1 is a 'positive' negative. It's like saying X is 'is not'. It's a glitch because of how the concept and language of math/logic interact - and yes, existence must exist, but not as a direct result of this equation, rather because how else could we... exist, to contemplate our own existence? This existence is also at least comprehensible to us, and we have evolved to gain a greater understanding of it than other creatures - before anyone accuses me of animalizing Man, yes I think Mankind is special, but only because of this ability to contemplate existence - it is an earned and inherited ability to attempt to explain the origin of more than just the individual life. Without the assumption that existence exists, nothing else can follow - not even the most basic 'A is A'. @Xandrith sure, I'll PM you later, am also tired and low battery on phone
My maps always get ****ed by 343s updates. Trinket has unplayable framerate drops now. This is such a shitty feeling. There are a few maps that made it to round 1 of the contest that also got hammered. I actually have noticed frame drops on a lot of the maps that werent there before... but not as intense as mine.
