I was going to say this looks nice and I like the style, then I noticed my name in the description... I can't even tell what parts of this I made...

Hey, I really hope you don't mind me having used a few prefabs. It was quite a while ago that I bookmarked these from your modern house map, you'll have to forgive me for not remembering the name off the top of my head. At least I assume it was yours - it said it was your file originally in the file browser.

The items I used were the cool little washer/drier (I didn't change that) the double bed and the sandbag couch. I edited the bed so it was longer and raised off the ground with wooden legs and I doubled up on the sandbags to create a larger chair that could fit spartan in it.

Really hope you don't mind me doing this.

The overall design is mine, but some of the objects are prefabs with my own spin on them.

I have no problem with it! I'm just glad somebody actually credited the creators. Just thought it was funny because I clicked on this map without knowing.

Haha that's great! Well I can't go and take full credit if other members of the community have helped me create my map in essence. I'd feel bad if I did that !

I'm really glad you like the way it looks (especially since you're a very good forger yourself!) and I'd be really grateful if you maybe bookmarked it and gave it a test sometime. I've put a lot of time into forging on halo 5 with many failed attempts/crappy maps before I finally made this one. It's not without flaws admittedly (mainly a couple of lighting issues and some framerateyness here and there), but I'm quite happy with the way this plays and looks for the most part.

It'd be amazing just to have a few people give it a play test, I've had quite a lot of good feedback from customs so hopefully people here will enjoy it too.

After playing this in 1v1 last night, I'd like to give some feedback. Keep in mind this is all stuff that has to do with improving the map's function. Just some things we noticed about the map.

    1. Your loadout cameras are stationary. I strongly suggest having them pan around like most maps. Also your initial loadout camera is showing a view of the map from the outside where you can see the floating blocks. This doesn't effect gameplay.
    2. We noticed you had the Golf Club and Gravity Hammer both with only 1% ammo, so we could tell they weren't meant to be used. I suggest putting them behind glass blocks to still display them on the walls, but making them unobtainable. If the Grav Hammer IS meant to be in play, you need to lower it, as it is a pain to jump up and try to grab it.
    3. Another piece we believe should be lowered was the grav lift in the Kitchen. It took away from the flow a bit to have to jump up to it when it could either be flesh with the ground or ramped up to it.
    4. The Hydra spawn in the Jacuzzi area was also a bit of a hassle to jump in and out of, especially just to grab the weapon. We'd suggest either moving the weapon pad out, or making the Jacuzzi flow more.
    5. Consider replacing the Storm Rifle on the Weapon Pad with a Fury, and also perhaps moving it upstairs, as all power weapons (excluding Golf Club) seem to spawn downstairs.
    6. The amount of Splinter grenades and their respawn time made it so a Splinter Grenade was used in at least 4/5 engagements we had. I strongly suggest lowering this number or their respawn time.
    7. Your framerate issue might be simpler than you think. If I'm correct, you might be using lights set to Point that are overlapping. This causes HUGE issues with framerate. Try replacing all lighting with Spot lights.
    8. This map might actually function well for infection. Try setting it up for that!
    9. Lastly, this is just some aesthetic nitpicks. Some of the colors are contradicting or don't look like they belong. (The bright pink object on the table, etc.) I'd suggest using more toned colors. Also some furniture is too high to make any logical sense (shelf next to cinema setup).
Above all, the map was actually fun to play, which is always the main goal.

Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback! I really appreciate you testing my map and letting me know what you think, and I'm really glad you thought it was fun to play.

I'll be sure to get all the cameras sorted now you've mentioned that. Yep the hammer and golf club are supposed to be good for one kill. I wanted them as decoration but to also add a bit of fun/variety to the map - but not so much that they rule the game. I've lowered the hammer down so it's easier to pick up now. I've also lowered the lift to the ground. It was disguised as a sink for aesthetic reasons but I don't want that to hinder gameplay.

I think I will move the hydra out of the jacuzzi as you mentioned, but this clashes with putting a weapon pad upstairs. The most logical place for an upstairs weapon pad is on the balcony that overlooks the garden but this puts the two main power weapons far too close. We did play test this earlier on and I wasn't too keen on it. I think alternatively I'm going to work around this by putting the gunfighter magnum upstairs on the balcony. It was in the shed in the garden but it doesn't tend to get picked up in there, so this will also bring it into the game a bit more while putting another power weapon upstairs.

Out of interest, why do you think I should use a Fury instead of a storm rifle? Me and my friends use this map to warm up on so I tried to keep everything fairly nerfed, you see. I wanted to make it fun but also hard for lesser skilled players so games on there are actually quite testing. That was my thought process.

Also I wanted to keep power weapons/active camo downstairs because I was afraid that as a room based map (especially the smaller rooms upstairs with fewer ways to enter them) people might feel the urge to camp. Also, the main power spots are upstairs, so I wanted to encourage movement throughout the map and avoid camping, which was why the majority of the power weapons are placed downstairs. But yeah - the upstairs needs something more so hopefully the gunfighter will give it that. What do you think?

Yeah I think you're right about the splinter nades. I think I'll whittle them down to one or two on the map.

Nice, I will definitely have a go at sorting the lighting out, pretty sure that's exactly what the problem is - too many point lights. I'll also have a look at changing some of the colours you mentioned and the height of the furniture and also get on setting it up for infection!

Really appreciate the feedback and I hope you don't mind the long response, I want to be thorough about your suggestions. Thanks a lot and I'm really glad you enjoyed playing on my map :)

Pretty much made all the changes you recommended (plus more) ! Apart from setting up the map for infection and the spot lights (struggled to get them looking good).

I've rejigged the map a lot based on your suggestions/observations and I think it plays much, much better.

If you have the time it'd be great if you took another look at some point
