Yo, I want to kick this off with a big thanks to both Given To Fly and Public Servent, without both this maps design would never really been conceived back in halo 3. Yes, I said halo 3. I don't want to build a wall o' text and nostalgia, so onto the ****in pictures. You may or may not be able to tell, but the red base is a grand majority of the map, and the design is such that both power weapons are in the base, but are actually easier for blue team to get to. Now hopefully that pulls the combat out of the base and more into the upper center, only tests can tell for certain. If anyone wants, I can show them it in forge since it is pretty much done (done according to original design, it may need some tweeks) Edit: I'm going to try something to make the red base floor look better, the stunt ramps just dont jive with me anymore.
The hologram thing really reminds me of Epitaph; it looks damn cool. Having red base take up the majority of the map sounds weird. I think I'll have to see the map in-game to see if it'll work out.
Technically speaking it is only aesthetically the red base. That said, it is alot easier to understand the layout ingame. That hologram is just a tad off from being the center of the map. Hopefully there arent any problems with the current design, because I would love for the map to be just like this so it is as close to the original as I can do. (Although the original was bigger) Like I said, if you want me to, I can show it to you in forge if you want. (that applies to anyone really)
Dominion base turrets set with object color red. They still belong to neutral team, so neither team can use them. Have to set a soft kill and a gravity zone to prevent any people in FFA games from getting close enough to them though. There is also a flashing red light in the very center of it. I don't mind anyone else using this technique, but I'd prefer you use a different shape than mine so that it doesnt look ripped from this. (I cant be the first person to have thought of this though, can I?)
I did think of doing this on my map, but it didn't look right so I did my aesthetics with struts instead.
Got some good tests in the past couple days, still need to test a few more gametypes, but slayer is good and oddball is way better than I could have ever hoped. Thanks to my testers, hope I can get some more games going on this and be sure everything works.
