I think the WAR one is better, because the text actually is readable, and its really powerful the way you did it,

I like it

 

The only thing I would do is make the text more apparent.

 

Definteley get rid of that text effect you went with and lower the saturation, jeez.

 

IMO you should lower the saturation because I find it looks too distracting, bright and busy.

However I like the style, particularily in the War one, as you can see the word more easily.
