First off, let me start by saying that I've looked through all of the Forging 101s. And boy have they helped me a lot.

But now I have my current dilemma, I can't seem to geo-merge walls into the ground. Whenever I try they go crazily out of control.

So I was wondering if anyone could point me out to a good tutorial (Specifically for my problem) or at least give me a few pointers.

    Thanks,

Try bracing the walls with walls at the egdes, and along their length use teleporters and doors. Use the door technique.

Sinking walls in the Foundry floor is a tricky job, and people won't criticise you if you don't get it perfect. What are you trying to make?

    I will try that.

Currently I've tried lots of ways and most of them seem to make the wall sway back and forth a lot. Should I try the save-and-quit technique?

Right now I'm trying to make a piece of cover with a wall geo-merged into the ground.. I'm having low success xD

How many times are you trying to geo-merge it? More than three times usually means that you should try saving and quitting to keep the wall in place. Also try to use man cannons.

I often use walls as braces for walls, but I have begun to use laid down sender nodes as bracers. 2 on each side. 1 standing up on each small side. If you geo-merge into anything beside Foundry's floor, you can use weapon holders as braces for the top.

wait just a minute here is a crucial part in map making. Never add cover adding cover just makes maps less fun to play on. cover should be the varying heights of a map.

What is this a response to?

I agree. Your map is cover. Or rather, your geometry. There should be flowing structures, not cover.

While this isnt an exact example, this tutorial should explain certain styles of geomerging that can be applied to geomerging walls; and picture tutorials on how too do them.

Which map were you attempting to make this wall on? The steps can vary slightly depending on which map you use.

Thanks, Mace. That actually helped a bundle.

Now as for the geometry, not cover thing... it's basically an experiment, I'm trying to see what flows well with my map.. trust me, I'm not jumping to conclusions on flow just by saying, "I think this piece of cover looks good here..."

    Thanks for the help :D

EDIT: @Toxic: I'm making this map on Foundry.
